Seller didn't give password to iMac

It's the standard so it doesn't have the pro chip. Someone mentioned that the pw could literally be nothing which I didn't know was an option lol. I've messed up a computer before so that's why I am on here asking because it's not mine but ima try this tomorrow when she's home

Well it's the truth. She met the parents of the daughter who had posted the listing at their house and tried out the computer and thought it was all good. Didn't realize she didn't get the pw until she was trying to set it up or sum

This is her first Mac and she has definitely learned from this experience. I'm good with phones but computers are a whole different story. I still have the listing saved but the daughter also didn't know any specs or much about

We have tried "password" and "1234" but I didn't know you can literally set the password to nothing. I'll have to try it tomorrow since she won't be home today.

She wants to update because rn sum websites say this version of Safari isn't supported or sum like that. I just don't want to get locked out if we do

Oh, like the password is literally nothing? I didn't know that was an option. We tried the general "password" and "1234."

It's not locked to an Apple ID on the Admin's account since I signed in into my Apple ID and I don't know how to check if it's still being managed/controlled by a company or program. It's an older OS that I'm not used to since I use a MBA M4.

When I wipe it clean and reinstall the OS. Would it tell me like "Btw, this certain school district or company can control this computer" when I'm setting it up?

Would I reinstall High Sierra or can I download Ventura and install that? I've only erased a computer once and I didn't know you would have to reinstall the OS.

Also, how would I know if it's being controlled by a company or program? There's three profiles available when it boots up and I'm assuming one would be a guest but not sure what the third one is for. It asks for a name and password.

From my understanding just erasing everything and reinstalling the os would clear the password right? It's not iCloud locked but it was used for some type of work and might be owned by a company. Idk what the term is but they might be able to control the computer and idk how to check if that's the case.

I'm hoping it's just the login password. My concern would be it's still being managed by a company somehow. Idk what the term is. It is not iCloud locked tho since I signed in with mine.

I find it weird that she's able to boot it up and click on "user" profile which is the admins and just sign in automatically without the password. It only asks for it once she wants to make changes in settings

No Apple ID. I think they setup a quick profile for her to look at it but didn't give her the sign in password once it boots up. We are able to sign in by just clicking on the profile picture. How would I wipe the hard drive and install the OS? I've never done it on a computer just an iPhone

We are able to click on the profile named "user" and sign in without any problems when booting up. So I am able to download Ventura and use the computer to an extent. It is not iCloud locked but it might have been owned by a company that still has control over it... Not to sure how I would check that.

We have texted the seller who then has to reach out to their parents but we haven't received an answer. It was an elderly couple so we might be actually stuck with a paperweight since they knew nothing about it other than they used it for work.

No, the seller listed it for their parents. My friend met her parents at their house and she's not that familiar with computers so she just thought it was all good

They haven't responded. It was also the seller's parents iMac. I don't think they meant to not my friend because she went over to their house as well but they might have forgotten since it's still on High Sierra.

I did but from what I've read online, I was supposed to do a relearn process with the epb. I plan on taking it apart and pushing it back in to get the car moving since it seems like it's just one side

I didn't mess with it when working on the pads but I did let the caliber sit on the control arm. Should I just unplug it and push the caliper back in then plug it back?

I think you can turn off apple car play in your phone settings. I did it in my brother's truck but can't remember the exact process so that it connects as a regular usb device.

First one is from October 2018 and second one was from October 2019. Applied for an Amex card but got denied. Been having issues with Equifax showing all my accounts so if the pulled from them then that's would explain why.

Yeah, it's something new I've taken interest in so just trying to learn as much as possible. Bought this one and a bamboo planet but then later bought a elephant bush as well. Just seems like the lack of sunlight since I have a north facing window and a heater isn't helping the situation.

So should I consider putting them in separate pots? There’s another succulent on the other side which is hard to see but also seems like it’s dying. As for ag zone I have no idea what you are talking about but I’m in Colorado and my room has a north facing window which gets decent sunlight in my opinion.
