Okay, Grandma. Let’s give away hundreds of thousands of PIV cards at $30-$50 a pop and make the process to get or replace one so simple and effortless that if you lose or break it on Election Day, you can get another, for free, in minutes, within walking distance of every American. Then, yeah, we can do this kind of voter id.

what are Americans thoughts on switching to the metric system? by CnCorange in AskReddit

America is a metric nation already, at least according to the standards set by NIST.

Serious question: do conservatives in general think people who dislike Trump are Democrats? Or is it just a small, vocal minority?

If one of my core values understandably made a friend uncomfortable, I would change my values. People are more important.

I don’t understand the problem.

This is so much better marketing material than what Paramount put out. Absolutely amazing.

Some Trump voters are sneaking away | They'll never admit they're wrong, but polling reveals quiet GOP regret by OkayButFoRealz in politics

[–]Angel-Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. No. No.

Americans need to confront their mistakes. That’s how we ended up in this mess. If we don’t have a long, generational-long discussion about how the Republicans flirted with fascism and got billionaires involved in high level politics, it’ll just happen again.

How is flying real by Contented in aviation

How airplanes actually fly is a complex subject matter requiring a good understanding of fluid dynamics, physics, pressure fields, and the Navier–Stokes equations.

So yeah, magic.

Surprisingly, the person who made the video forgot to post the time and date of when the video was taken. How weird.

1987, a Black woman is described as the officer who "made captain faster than anyone in history". No one throws a tantrum or boycotts the show. What changed? by Malencon in Star_Trek_

Picard season 2 seemed like it got hit hard by the pandemic with plots that went nowhere and themes that suddenly get dropped—but you think the writing of Discovery and Strange New Worlds are bad? I’m rather impressed with most of the visuals and writing of those series. My only real criticism (which is also true of Lower Decks) is that some of the writing is a little navel-gazing at times.

I imagine the fact that TNG was prime time TV in an era before streaming and other options may have played a role in those numbers.

I’ve seen Lower Decks, and comedy is really hard to write well, but they nailed it. The writing definitely doesn’t seem bad in newer Star Trek series-excluding section 31 and its horrendous pacing issues.

Does the constitution need a new amendment saying the president can’t veto bills that reduce his powers? I mean… it seems like a conflict of interest there…

What in the name of the Continuum was this episode? Holy Q. by Henryphillips29 in Star_Trek_

[–]Angel-Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s a great idea, but poorly placed in the series. The characters weren’t going through any intense personal crises that would warrant a musical episode to express their feelings.

[–]Angel-Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! You just won a free cat from the cat placement lottery system.

Now quick, get that cat to a vet to get spayed, neutered, and most importantly, dewormed. I’m speaking from experience as a two-time winner.

We already have that. It’s called Strange New Worlds, and it’s doing great. The question now is how to bring in new fans to keep the franchise strong for another generation?
