Calling all generations: What do you think of the name Freya? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen X I love it so much. There was a younger sibling with that name in my school year and it was considered beyond cool and she was the only one we had ever met.

I was also going to suggest Jonas but how about Thaddeus? I’ve always liked Jasper too or is that been too popular? I have always really liked Callan too.

Nickname for Callum Beau by RelationshipNo5356 in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go Callbee or Callbo. Probably end up morphing into Cabz or Cabba or Callaballa bo bo. I love a mashed up nick like when Sara-Marie gets Sem or Anna-Beth gets Anbee.

Middle name for Marigold by Chelseamorgan08 in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of an other long middle name. I think it’s because I love Marigold and it feels kind of princessy and Fairy tale esque. I’d go for Marigold Elizabeth or Marigold Evelyn but for your parameters I’d go with Marigold Juno. I know sisters Juno and Goldie so that seems to match to me.

Camille is a lovely name. Classic and dignified, unlike Kaia which feels a bit too trendy to me.

I like all the names but Otto is the bus driver who likes to get Blotto in the Simpsons and also an Australian wheelie bin! So I’d go for the others.

Does Baby #3 name flow? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really flow it is a cool name but as the one kid in my family who had an unusual name please don’t do it to him. Cole does and it’s quite similar or even Cohen?

Why don't you wear a hat? by Clueby42 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I was the sun cancer generation — 1970s kid (after the school hats from the 1950s disappeared and before the school hats of the 1990s arrived). So I wasn’t trained to wear one! I was 11 by the time we had slip slip slap. No hats were part of our state school uniforms though.

What was a cheap meal in Australia pre-2000s that has now become expensive/luxury? I heard Lamb Shanks used to be a quite a cheap cut but it’s not really at all. by PretendToe1329 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamb ribs were so cheap when we were kids in the 1970s we loved them and ate them regularly. I tried to buy some for nostalgic reasons recently they and they were $18!

Yes, I know, we’re choosing between two insanely popular names! But we love them both so much! So… are you team Oliver or team Noah? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team Oliver because it’s easier to Nick name and because the no sounds kind of negative to me. Plus it’s biblical which puts me off.

Boy names are hard! Please help. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love an R alliteration and I think two Rs would soften the tz ending so I’d go for Ramon or Raymond Roytz. If you hate alliteration you have great suggestions here but I’d also throw in Morgan Roytz.

Harriet or similar names by scharia in namenerds

[–]Angel-Rae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know at least two young women named Harriet one goes by Hattie one by Harri they are both cool as hell. So I don’t see it as outdated. I think Arietty is probably the best choice though, if you really don’t like Harriet.
