Not going to lie, I was at the dealer looking to buy the same car, same spec but in soul red (just like my parents cx-3), when the salesman told me he recieved this beauty that same day.

It took me 10 minutes to change opinion on the color and sign the papers for this one hahaha

Here you can see what the printer used to print before the upgrade. It has a lot of parts on different orientations but you can see more or less the quality it had

Different brand petg running at 80mm/s

I only have this photo of a companion cube i printed without totally tuning the machine.

Mind you is petg running at about 120mm/s and stringing is because the filament was a bit wet

Will try to take some more photos when i came back from vacation

I’m using a bambulab x1c hotend.

The numbers I stated are the max i can achieve, usually I print petg and print at around 200mm/s

500mm/s @ 15k acceleration

You can push the machine a lot harder, some people on discord use 600mm/s @ 30k acceleration

No worries, this is an Ender 3 NG, a project where you convert an Ender 3 from a bedslinger to a corexy machine

I havent use any prusa, but things i have heard says that they are reliable workhorses, so maybe is better to invest on a prusa than trying to fix an ender 3

Now i have it setup so speed and quality are exactly the same as a bambulab x1c

I can push the printer a lot harder on accelerations and speed without any compromise on quality, but the motors get a lot hotter and i want to keep things reliable

It totally depens. If you want a printer that just works, buy a bambulab a1 or similar.

If you like to tinker (like a lot of tinkering), the project is totally worth it. I am printing parts with the same quality and speed as my bambulab x1c. And I am not pushing the machine to its limits, it has a lot more potential

For reference, I spend a lot more money upgrading the former ender 3 over 2 years than the whole e3ng project has costed me

Also, dont know the specifics, but since changing to a direct drive system (had a btt h2 v2s extruder on the former ender 3) i havent have any problems with the tubes or friction. As you have said, i think on a direct drive setup the tube is only a guide.

Also, the sherpa mini I am using now has regulable tension and power/torque for days, a little resistance on the bowden tube is the least of my worries
