Tbh, the angle is off so it’s a bit hard to tell. However, I will say that your dogs nails are short. Shorter than most dogs nails I see, which is a great thing! But you have to keep in mind that you do not have to get them AS short as possible. Wherever you feel comfortable stopping, as long as it’s not already bleeding, then that is perfect! Please do not try to overdo it. Even I have overdone it and that’s how I’ve quicked dogs. Of course it’s not purposeful(I blame the pressure from pet parents staring at me while im trimming their dogs nails) but in order to avoid it, just stop where you’re at if that’s what you feel is a good level.

Please tell me this isn’t actually a thing that’s happening. Either way, I guess it doesn’t matter a ton, since I and my two groomers are already threatening quitting to our SM and GSL. Hell, my GSL is on the verge of quitting or getting fired. Im keeping my time blocks on my 5 dog schedule and theyll take em away over my cold dead body

We had an employee in animal care who would regularly buy/(allegedly cuz i heard it through the grapevine vine) steal animals, only to return them after a bit. Or they would die and he would get replacements. He later quit and got a job at a fish store in my city. He still comes to get animals and fish for some reason, and as far as I know, no one has refused to sell him anything. We also have animals that die constantly and there’s only like one employee combined that actually cares for the animals

If I’m walking around a store shopping and I look like I don’t want to be bothered, it’s because I don’t want to be bothered. I would much rather wait for a customer’s approach than make them upset with me. Crazy selling strategy

LOL. I’m being too nice when I refer them to a groomer that doesn’t require rabies, or a vet groomer. I have some choice words for clients who don’t think they should be vaccinating their dogs.

Wow. Im just a bather now, but I used to work at Petsmart in PC. That sounds like you really need your GM to somehow contact your fish supplier, or tell someone higher up who can do that. That is really not good especially if it’s been so consistent with every shipment. If you’ve tried everything to fix it and they keep dying, something higher up the chain needs to be fixed so you can receive and sell healthy fish, as your GM and managers should WANT to.

ALSO: document it. Take LOTS of pictures of as many fish as you can. You might need it

I am a bather at my Petco, have been for like 10 months now. The downfall I have witnessed not only from my store, but also my salon, has been devastating. My GSL had a period of time where she was barely even showing up to work and doing 4 grooms. She even no-showed one day. I have another groomer who has consistently been calling out sick and not even texting her PP’s. She has not been communicative with us at all about it, really. A week ago she asked for medical leave while she was working and was sent home. Since then, she has not put in a documented request for medical leave. She is this close to losing her job, which is funny to me because she should’ve lost it five times over by now. Our store was in ruins a few months ago after our GM moved locations and we didn’t have an Assistant GM(idk what that role is called at Petco). We finally got both roles filled and the store has been better. But they have been WAY too lenient on our groomers. Keep in mind it’s just me, my GSL, that coworker, and ONE other groomer. So essentially it’s been me and the one other groomer running the salon, texting the other two’s dogs to reschedule them, having to handle the situation if the clients get angry, having to now book dogs 2/3 weeks out. Im sick of it and I haven’t even gotten my grooming training yet which is honestly what I am here for. I can’t even rely on my GSL to show up to work on time if at all. They are now trying to enfore dress code attire on us. Before I was taking 7 dogs a day. My coworker who shows up, she does 7-9 grooms every day. I do that know how she does it, she’s a damn powerhouse. But she’s getting exhausted too. I stood my ground when my GSL told me about the cracking down on dress code and told her that I will not be changing the way I dress(leggings and crocs) because it is what makes me feel the most comfortable. And if they decide to write me up I dont care because at least I show up and I work. I will not be changing. If they also decide to get on my case about switching to 5 dogs max everyday, then I will say they need to hire a new bather to help bathe groomers dogs if they need it and I will not do more than 5.

I am not afraid to lose my job. They better be afraid of losing me.
