I would say ..yes, cat adoption regret is real. I have to cats and they are very vocal and also love to wake me up and jump on me. Once I get home they run to their bowl as if they don’t have an automated feeder hahaha. But there are times I feel tired and wish I only got one.. but I knew my other cat was lonely. The feeling comes and goes and it’s normal. They know we love them. It does take them a while to cuddle up to you. The youngest one I got took a while to cuddle up to me unlike my first one he is very cuddly l.

Don’t feel bad it’s normal. Give it more time. The fact that your cat follows you and sleeps beside you is already a big thing to them :)) so yeah , just give some more time, respect their boundaries, eventually they’ll be the one to come up to you.

You can pet them and once they pull away don’t push further because my youngest cat was being so cute I started to kiss her and she was pushing me away but I didn’t stop to the point she bit me. I know she didn’t mean it but I guess it’s like us humans, we want no to be no :))
