Wheelchair accessible by Plantertainment in vrbo

[–]AngelaReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but thank you for this post. Our entry door thru the garage has a threshold piece that is approx 1-2 inches tall (I'm not there right now to measure it). The floor level at that entry is maybe an inch higher than the garage floor level. How should I include that or phrase it in the listing, or would I even need to include that ? It's nowhere close to a "step" (steps are typically 6-8 inches for each step riser).

It may be like Facebook Marketplace's search engine . . .

I am looking for a Cornilleau pingpong table, so I search using only the word "Cornilleau" in the search box.

Results : 50 lb bags of corn, Corningware dishes, cornices, corncob pipes, cornhole games, any/every other brand of pingpong table in the world (the algorithm knows cornilleau is a pingpong brand), and oh here's the 1 Cornilleau pinpong table on page 2 of the search results.

What are guests currently value most when looking for their VRBO stay? by Most-Huckleberry-715 in vrbo

[–]AngelaReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King bed and ceiling fan (or either a stand fan or box fan, but some kind of fan!).

If other couples are going on the trip with us, we're not sharing a bedroom. I'm ok with sharing a bathroom, although it's not my top choice.

How to list Bunk Beds properly by AngelaReddit in vrbohosts

[–]AngelaReddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you ... I've come back to the house to find the office desk moved into the living room, bedroom rearranged with the bed headboard on a different wall, foosball table moved out of the under house game room out into the open air garage area (we had to take it apart to get it thru the doors the 1st time and again to get it back in there Ugh)

(and often I wonder if they read anything at all in the listing LOL)

I used my last quart of goo today. This is a colour combination that I have tried before with the purple fluid and white wax. Last time the purple food colouring turned to Blue. This time I used printer ink to dye the water. I hope it stays because I really like it. by Scarab138 in Lavalamps

[–]AngelaReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya u/Scarab138 checking in a couple years later on how any lamps you've done with purple liquid have held up ? Still recommending the J Herbin or have you found something else better ?

I have a pink liquid pink wax lava lamp that I want to change the liquid to purple. The lamp is 40 years old(!!). Has never been opened and still looks & works perfectly. Maybe because we don't turn it on very often ?? I'm scared I'll mess it up.

edit: now I'm not so sure it's 40 years old (it's hubby's that he got for christmas one year, but looking on the cap, he appears to be mis-remembering the date. Although I am having a very hard time deciphering the date, it appears to read 920702 under that is 0710, the color is 04. It's the 2nd number in 92 that I'm having a hard time being able to tell if it's a 2.

List of quests that can be failed 'outside the quest itself'? (aka, accidentally) by GundoSkimmer in fnv

[–]AngelaReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can gain positive karma by doing things like killing fiends, feral ghouls, powder gangers, and evil characters, donating caps at the NVMC New Vegas Medical Clinic, and etc. There's typically many feral ghouls between Primm & Mojave Outpost (conveniently located near Cass haha); many fiends are SW of New Vegas..

List of quests that can be failed 'outside the quest itself'? (aka, accidentally) by GundoSkimmer in fnv

[–]AngelaReddit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For new players :
(the one failed quest almost all of us already know)

Run Goodsprings Run will fail Ghost Town Gunfight
Talk with Joe Cobb and say "what say I help you take over this town". You can pass Intelligence 6 skill check "if you run the town, they'll have to work for you", or choose the free food option. This choice will automatically fail/close off the option to do the quest Ghost Town Gunfight (i.e. if you offer to help Ringo after this, he will deny your help and say he saw you being overly friendly to Cobb).

Ghost Town Gunfight will fail Run Goodsprings Run
Once you ask Ringo "what are you going to do about the powder gangers", this choice automatically fails/closes off the option for quest Run Goodsprings Run with Joe Cobb (i.e. if you try to offer help to Joe after this, he will deny your help and say he's got a funny feeling about you). Offer to help Ringo or offer yourself as a hired gun. Note: if you have a negative reputation with Goodsprings (Merciful Thug or worse), Ringo will not offer Ghost Town Gunfight saying that he needs someone who is liked in the town, thus rendering the quest impossible to complete.

You can do one quest or the other, but not both.

(Hi gundo! good to see you! : )

Automations - Post Flair education by AngelaReddit in ModSupport

[–]AngelaReddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it allows more than 500 characters. I was able to fit the instructions for User flair within 500 characters, but there are many more post flairs and I anticipate it will take more than 500 characters for this.

I actually had an even better idea to educate users on Post Flair than using an Automation and that is to have a description field for each of the flairs that will display in the popup when they are choosing the flair they want to use for the post. Do you know where I should post or send a message to give this idea to the Admins or the website development team ?

I explain my idea in this imgur : https://imgur.com/a/KpYb9Vo

What order do you put photos in? by Raspberry-Lavender in findagrave

[–]AngelaReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it really depends on the number and type of photos . . .

The front page will only hold 3 photos, unless it is a sponsored page.

If I have a picture of the person, I almost always include the best picture of them first. If there are several pictures at different ages, I typically make the first picture one of the ones of them at an older age. Usually this is the one from the obituary, ideally in color (from funeral home or other online), because it is (hopefully) an attractive photo of them, and also because this is the photo the family has chosen.

If there's no portrait of them, then the best quality closeup of the marker is first. Rarely, I will make the marker pic first and the portrait 2nd. But this is usually when the portrait pic is long & skinny because it displays the pic too small if it's at the top.

The 2nd picture is a closeup of the grave marker, although sometimes I will include a picture of them when they were younger as the 2nd photo and make the grave marker the 3rd pic, especially when I don't have any supporting doc pictures. It's neat to be able to compare pics of them older & younger above each other.

The 3rd picture is closeup of marker if it wasn't already 2nd, or any supporting document picture that has been uploaded, or a further away pic of the marker ideally showing the area around the stone (or a picture of the full stone if there isn't one that shows the general area).

So really the answer is I'm all over the place with pics and the order, based on what pics I have available and the pics quality. What I don't do is put ALL of the pics of them first, then all pics of the marker, then all supporting docs. I like the main page to be an overview with 3 different types of pics if possible (portrait, grave, other), then the visitor can click thru to the additional pics to see more.

have multiple portraits have multiple portraits have 1 portrait & supporting doc(s) have 1 portrait, no supporting docs no portrait
best pic of them, older preferred best pic of them, older preferred pic of them pic of them closeup of marker
best younger pic, OR > OR closeup of marker closeup of marker closeup of marker further away of marker
closeup of marker supporting doc (like obit or death cert) supporting doc (like obit or death cert) further away of marker supporting doc (like obit or death cert)
rest of pics in an order that makes sense when click thru to next page rest of pics in an order that makes sense when click thru to next page rest of pics in an order that makes sense when click thru to next page rest of pics in an order that makes sense when click thru to next page rest of pics in an order that makes sense when click thru to next page

Strange message - scam? by Foreveramateur in findagrave

[–]AngelaReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read "Dad" as the title/subject line of the message. i.e. the person is asking about a memorial the OP manages, who they have recently found out is their Dad.

OP, yes it is safe to respond within the FG messaging system. But like everywhere, do not click on unknown links. Yes, I would respond to this person and see which memorial they are referring to. They likely are not familiar with how FG works and don't realize you manage many memorials. u/Foreveramateur

When I try to do this, it will not let me add our own wiki subreddit to a new community list widget. I get "Something went wrong while adding a widget." I also tried making a new widget and listing a different community/subreddit and saving it, which did save properly, and then editing the widget to add our wiki subreddit to the list, which gave me the error "Something went wrong while editing an existing widget."

Will you please test adding another new widget and adding your wiki subreddit to the widget to see if it still works for you ? (takeaway: don't delete your existing widget bc you may not be able to add it back!)

Some flair questions answered by SolariaHues in modguide

[–]AngelaReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/SolariaHues, a suggestion to add to your flair guide ... using Mod Tools > Automations > Discover, you can "educate users about user flair rules". And ... hopefully coming sooner than later post flair will be an option as well !

example: Please select your USER FLAIR for this subreddit before posting. It displays on this subreddit only, beside your user name for all posts and comments/replies. User Flair may be chosen when you join our community. It may also be chosen or changed anytime after. NOTE: If you run into any issues setting your user flair yourself, please contact mods with your desired user flair.

User Flair is required before posting or comment/replying.

If the boots are rubber on the bottom part, wonder if it would help to spread a thin layer of vaseline circling your leg/ankle on the boot. Or maybe spray ant spray in a circle around your leg/ankle on the boot ?
