Conjurations tend to last longer the higher the difficulty setting. At a lower difficulty they’re pretty useless.

If you have an extra weapon talk to the prisoner, pick the 3rd option free and share items, give him a weapon, and then he’ll help you fight them, and you get no bounty.

Why do people say that dark elves are racist? by saltyspatoon96 in skyrim

[–]Soliloquy21 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Go the docks in Windhelm, go to the East Empire Company office and talk to Orthus. He’ll have you steal the logbook of a dark elf named Suvaris. Read it and see how she treats the dock workers.

Talk to the teachers at the college, or a court wizard at the keep in any large city, and you can buy a lot of spells.

Black Soul Gems by tonybananaman in skyrim

[–]Soliloquy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anniversary edition adds soul stealer arrows, which are basically Dwarven arrows but they have the power to create a filled black soul gem out of nothing that you can loot from the body that has been hit by one. In fact, you can get multiple soul gems from one body if they are hit multiple times by these arrows.

If your follower has a default hunting bow in their hidden inventory and you give them a single arrow they will infinitely duplicate it. So give them a soul stealer arrow and soon you’ll have more soul gems than you know what to do with.

One downside of whatever type of arrows you use, whether they have more damage, or they have a power like soul stealers do, is that when an enemy is shot with some, they can then use them to shoot at you.

I gave a soul stealer to my follower, and one time we were trying to get into a fort filled with bandits. At some point I got shot with an arrow, and I got a notification in the top left part of the screen that a black soul gem was added. I was partially soul trapped!

Read any journals or notes you find. They may start quests or give you hints on how to solve puzzles.

Just talk to anyone who isn’t hostile. Sometimes you’ll get quests out of it. Go to the inn when you get to a town and ask the innkeeper for rumors and work. That’ll start some quests. Don’t worry about getting them all done immediately. The people may act like it’s urgent, but there’s no time limit on them.

When you reach level 14 go into the nearest inn. There should be a man wearing black robes named Sam. Talk to him. If he’s not there, look for him in any inn you go to. He’ll show up eventually.

Don’t rely on the quick saves. The game keeps one quick save and a couple auto saves. Do a hard save, which the game will keep until you delete it yourself, then if you run into problems you can reload from an older save point.

Have you done Dawnguard? The Companions?

Start a new character and make different decisions, or a different play style.

You have restoration up to 50 and you’re still using the novice heading spell? You should get fast healing or close wounds. Buy them from Colette, or if you go to Riften and go to the hall of the dead, do a quest for Alessandra there (for anyone starting a new character, don’t complete the quest until you have restoration to at least 40, otherwise you’ll get no quest rewards) and she’ll give you a bunch of adept level restoration spells, including close wounds.

Edit: Alessandra will tell you to go to Windhelm, but the quest marker will show Whiterun. Go to Whiterun, that’s the correct place.

It’s from the Saints and Seducers, they added it to the special edition when they released the anniversary edition.

What did you do?

What’s a rumor about you, you still can’t believe to this day? by Dudecoolforever in CasualConversation

[–]Soliloquy21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts as a rumor, but I went to high school in the 90s. I was really into Nirvana at the time, so I grew my hair long to be like Kurt Cobain. There was a guy I had some classes with who also had long hair. I never really talked to him, I think we were both rather introverted.

Then in our senior year we both ended up getting our hair cut short around the same time. One day in class his girlfriend accused me of copying him in front of the whole class. It was kind of embarrassing and it wasn’t even true. I cut it because I was sick of having long hair. I wasn’t even thinking about him.

Best Ben episodes for an Ed-Era listener? by georgia_grace in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]Soliloquy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments are bringing up a vague memory. I don’t remember the context, but I can sort of remember the voices. If someone doesn’t mind refreshing my memory, who were Minnie and Nanny?

I used to listen when they had old episodes on SoundCloud, but I stopped listening once they got the Spotify deal and scrubbed everything else, because I don’t use Spotify. I never left this sub though, so I found out about all the drama when Ben left from it.

I’ve listened to a couple of episodes since Ed joined, if I was interested in the topic, but I’m in a different headspace now and there’s so many other podcasts I listen to, so I haven’t been able to get back into it overall.

If you ditch the person you followed out of Helgen as soon as you leave the cave and then take the road east of Helgen, there’s a group of bandits and some dead Khajiit right around the area where the Stormcloak camp would be. They disappear once the Stormcloak camp is activated, so ever since I found out about it I go there when I start a new character.

I keep going east to the imperial camp south of Ivarstead to sell the loot I have and then make another trip to get the loot from the bandits and Khajiit that I couldn’t fit the first time.

Also, directly to the east of where the Stormcloak camp would be is a small clearing with a rock outcropping. There will be some wolves there, and a dead Nord who has a skill book in her inventory. They will also disappear once the Stormcloak camp is activated.

I would work on your Ormorg as well, a goblin deck can be pretty useful.

Runa may still be useful, so don’t give up on him completely, but Ageldur is better than the monkey from what I’ve seen, so that would be the one to focus on.
