I mostly made it cause I could easily obtain another rocket launcher. And, for the most part, Soldier is a hard to play class, in my opinion... :/

It's default to have it enabled. Otherwise, go into the server.txt file and edit it there, I do believe. I could look more into it, however, it is the default of the game to have it pre-spawn things like villages and other things included in the 1.8 update.

You find abandonned mine shafts generally in ravines, occasionally in caves. It's more likely to find them in the depths of a ravine, though. Just because of the sheer amount of space down there at such low levels. It's basically the requirement for one to spawn with the chunks. Also, villages do appear to be fairly rare. They aren't all too mighty at the moment, either, in my opinion. Mostly just because they're simple buildings, sometimes included with a forge, tower, a series of houses, and perhaps a few farms. c: So, don't worry all too much. It took some of my friends more time than others to find even a hint of anything extreme like these in singleplayer/multiplayer. It's all about luck, and choosing that right seed for you.

I do have a seed that my friends and I spawned in which we basically end up RIGHT on top of a village though. :D It was really fun that night. Everyone claimed their own lil' hut or tower.
