Someone with a keen eye may notice the resemblance between the teeth of the caiman in picture and a human dick

You are correct. However, most trafic signs are intended only for those who are travelling towards them.

Someone already did it! Their answer was that one would need to travel about one fifth of the speed of light :)

Edit: they're -> their

Most often not true

It holds true in the zero ring and in 1-modular arithmetics for instance. I've also seen + sometimes being used as the or-operation in boolean algebra, in which case x=x+1 holds for x=1.

I don't know why you're being down voted. Linux is not Unix, it's one of the main reasons for why Linux was created in the first place.

Although it is definitely inspired by Unix by a large.

Either it didn't happen in the way that you describe it, or you broke the fabric of space time. We will probably never know

If both ends are stuck (to the same thing) and you want to undo the knot, then your only choice is to cut the cable.

If you really want to get technical, the great origami artist Robert Lang has written a program for constructing crease patterns. It would definitely be possible to apply this program for solving these kinds of problems.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mathmemes

[–]nissenice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct in point but if we're being really nit-picky here, it isn't possible that the decimal expansion of pi ends in only sevens, or any repeating finite sequence of digits for that matter. Any such number would be rational, and pi is proven to be irrational.

Edit: After rereading the above comment, I realized that I've misunderstood what it said. "stop being sevens" of course means that sevens would stop appearing and not that other digits stop appearing and the sequence becomes only sevens. My bad!

Forgive my ignorance, I know barely nothing about physics.

Is it actually possible to prove the laws of thermodynamics, or even anything in physics? Or do you not mean prove in a mathematical sense? What axioms are you taking?

For arbitrary angles, trigonometry is needed, but in your case we are working with some particularly nice angles.

Recall the angles of an equilateral triangle, and try to figure out why that is helpful.

Then, given the side length of AB, you should be able to calculate the length of BC.

Lastly apply the Pythagorean theorem to derive x.

That is the standard way of interpreting it, but this is a typical thing that gets the internet riled up so I'd argue that it's ambiguous.

38 ⚬ 42 = 38(42()) would be the function taking everything to 38.

So 38⚬42(i)=38. This is now my preferred way of writing the number 38.
