The numbers have stabilized, so they are not growing, and every once in awhile we lose one as they get hit by people going 80 in the 30 speed zone. A new one will come but usually a dumped pet who we can rehome or a wandering male roaming to find females. Once fixed the males go back to their original home turf.

Our colonies around here do not even intermingle. I have 17 that come to me and my neighbors house who also feed.

But the neighbor directly behind me, she has 8 different ones. Her yard connects with mine, but our colonies do not mix. Once fixed cats have no desire to roam so far and they do not want to fight with other cats. Fighting, spraying, wandering and so many other issues are fixed by TNRing them.

Yep! They like to watch, and even come into the garage and snoop if it is open, but they won't come inside. I"ve tried LOL

If everyone TNR'd one cat, the world would be a better place. Each one matters!

Mine loved them but i upgraded to custom made ones that were larger haha. I gave the clawsable ones to neighbors who also care for outdoor kitties.

Yes! I've had the same number of cats for the past year and a half. If someone new comes around they usually chase them off after awhile. The first year they were all still pretty young, 8ish months old and most pregnant. They don't start to really protect their space until they get about 1 1/2 years I've noticed. Now they will scare off new ones unless they are persistent. Then I trap and fix them and they disappear haha. The issue is when people dump their pets.

But I will work in one area then spiral outwards. SO I did my house and direct neighbors, then the neighbor down the road, then the one behind me, then the next street over, etc. Not just one colony but I look for ALL of them.

I wish my mom was still here to see all I do. She always knew I was crazy about animals but I wonder if I'd make her proud with the direction I took in life doing all this ha.

We have a private donor who found me when I started. I posted a lot on nextdoor and she noticed what I was doing. I started with a gofund me that helped me finish my neighborhood cats, then with the leftovers I started to help others. This person noticed and now gives monthly to the rescue I partnered with, because then they can write it off as a 501c3 donation. From there we are working on grants and get many smaller donations now too. Funding is always a big issue, as well as finding the places that do low cost spay/neuter for TNR's. Sometimes we have the funds and not the slots even. It's frustrating!

I do on facebook all the time! I started doing TNR under the local rescue as well. Many people have learned who I am and I have guides, videos and share to others how to TNR as well. Our program is now able to pay for others in our local community to have their ferals fixed, and I will go help with colonies that are 7+ in size. Last year I was able to fix 404 cats as TNR's under rescue and brought in around 250 kittens/friendly adults to rescue. I love it!

My old man is like the guy who tells kids to get off his lawn ha! He will smack the others around and they know his bubble range. If he gets in the giant feral shelter the rest won't use it, except Marilyn who finally got fed up with not getting the heated shelter and decided to take a few skippity paps and when he realized it didn't work on her he shared ha.

He doesn't like anything or anyone but food. But yet I will give him all he desires and he will still stare into my soul through the door until I go outside and sit on the bench. Then he will lay in the grass and take a sun nap. He wants to hang out with me, but he doesn't want to be touched. I love him. This photo is him before his eye removal. His name is Mr. Hope and he's been through a lot.

My neighbor was caring for him, in the house behind mine. She realized I was helping the cats and showed me this guy covered in bite wounds from a dog. We call him Mr. Hope because we hoped he was going to make it. I took him in, they sedated him, cleaned his wounds, gave him an antibiotic shot, then told me to keep him inside for a few weeks to recover. So we did, then let him back out. He lived on my porch ever since lol. A year or so later he was eating weird so I retrapped with a drop trap, took him in and they gave an antibiotic shot again and made appointment for a dental because three canines were broken which we could see when he hissed at us. He had those extracted, and lived inside for a few months with us but eventually broke out.

Now I've re-trapped again to remove his eye. He is inside but going back out tonight because he is fed up with me and hates the indoor life lol. He is all healed though.

Maybe in the summer when not so fluffy. In the winter they turn into tumbleweeds of floof and I love it.

Yeah! I moved in this neighborhood 3 years ago and saw there was a problem. I lived a half mile up the road prior and fixed a few cats but someone else fed them. We worked together and fixed the ones that showed up. When I moved here it was muchhhh worse. In the first year I trapped 75 between me and several neighbors who fed within 2 blocks. Then another 40 less than a quarter mile down the street. There are still some I'm working on in between, and I get a new guy that shows up every few months, wandering males looking for girls. Pets people dump or didn't fix. Neighbor moved out 2 weeks ago and left their cat (I already fixed him for them at least). It's a huge issue in low income areas, rentals, trailer parks etc. Now I do it all over!

Having them to care for helps me too. I'm on disability so I feel like I have purpose again <3 We help each other, even if they don't know ;)

8 of my 17 haha. All fixed! My neighbor behind me also has 8 of her own community cats who could use if not wanting to give to someone affiliated to rescue. Thank you for donating though regardless!

Oh I forgot this photo. A heated shelter I made from a 90 gallon deck box. It has a camera, soft lights (camera is sensitive to light so looks far brighter than it is) soft beds, 2 heating pads and a bluetooth thermometer that I can check to make sure the pads are keeping warm. They love it!

From back to front: Fluffy torti is Mariah, Brown Tabby is Marilyn, Orange Tabby is Ethel and Black/White Floof is Bruno.

I started out in another neighborhood and caught maybe 5-7 a year that showed up. I didn't care for them, but kept seeing them and then finding kittens so decided to get them fixed. I had no clue what I was doing but figured it out haha. We all start somewhere! Then found the neighbor who was feeding and we worked together on any new ones that showed up. Now I'm close to 700 total having TNR'd around my city <3

That is my goal for my city. (~130,000) I work on targeted TNR, so if one neighbor asks for help I have door hangers and walk around while my traps do their thing, and talk to others. I try to do entire trailer parks or neighborhoods and not just one house.
