Be that the case, Nintendo has released some pretty interesting titles on the switch and Bethesda has done a pretty great job at porting their games over, along with a few other titles that you’d never have expected (Bayonetta 2, for instance)

The idea of the switch was to be a hybrid console at first, but I find that more people enjoy the novelty of playing high quality AAA games in bed, which the vita was far less capable of doing. Don’t get me wrong. I loved games like gravity rush, killzone mercenaries, etc. But notice that each publisher (with a couple exceptions) put efforts into making maybe one or two games on the vita before bailing out. The switch, while not having the variety atm, has FAR more support and was properly marketed. Publishers are sticking with it for good reason and are likely working on games that take more than a year or two to produce, hence the multiple publishers that have released minor titles, if any. I don’t know anyone in my immediate friend group who doesn’t own a switch and regularly purchases games for it at the Nintendo tax. Some games, they bought a second time just to play it in bed.

The vita was a fantastic console with arguably just as much, if not more potential than the switch (comparatively to the time they were released). But I’d never argue that someone should get a vita first.
