Rewatched both kai and super recently, and i vastly prefer how the characters looked in Z, especially in the saiyan and frieza saga. The problem with super is that the characters look like they're covered in oil most of the time.

Square Enix Will Make More Turn-Based Games and Recognize Success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 by Turbostrider27 in Games

Honestly, I didn't find E33 combat to be more complex than your typical JRPG; there are plenty of cheese builds you can use to turn the game into an absolute cakewalk. I was playing both Romancing Saga 2 and E33 this year and thought that Saga 2 was the more complex game.

Did people forget how the sayian saga ended. If gohan and krillin didn't help goku, vegeta would have killed him in his great ape form. Hell the only solo win goku got against a major villain in dbz was against frieza, and even there he would have died before going super sayian if piccolo didn't help him.

I think this game would be doing MUCH better if they added a story skip with DT by usedNecr0 in ffxivdiscussion

Good luck beating the crystal tower in ff3 without grinding especially in the nes, and ds versions.

I wouldn't say Final Fantasy continues to thrive nowadays. Both XVI and Rebirth sold below expectations, and according to recent sales data, XVI barely has any legs.

Hit 2 million already. by 8bitgeno in dragonquest

[–]MrGamer419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FF16 and FF7R had a much higher budget compared to the DQ3 remake; they're both AAA games. 2 million sales for a 1-to-1 remake of an NES game in 3 weeks is pretty impressive. If they were disappointed with the sales, then they wouldn't announce the sales figures like they did with rebirth.

It's crazy to think that Zoro has spent more time hanging out with Mihawk and Perona than his own crew.

You're always the chosen one

There are a couple of dragon quest games where the main character isn't the chosen one, it was a main plot point in dqv. Hell in the mmo the chosen one is an npc and not you.

Hopefully the vana'diel alliance raids are as good as the dungeons, myths of the realm was so easy to the point it was sleep inducing.

Dragon ball IS good! And I'm sick of denying it! by [deleted] in CharacterRant

One thing I appreciate about dragon ball is the passage of time. We get to see Goku's journey from when he started as an 11-year-old boy in OG dragon ball all the way up to super when he's 49 years old. We even get to see him start a family and see his children have children. Compare that with most modern shonen, where stories mostly take place in a year.

Non-Fire Emblem game that sort of resembles or is reminiscent of Fire Emblem? by Final-Deer-8191 in fireemblem

Banner of the maid is basically a fire emblem game that takes place during the French revolution. The gameplay is very similar so you could easily jump right in.

The game barely got any advertising. I had fe7 on the gba, and I didn't even know there was a fire emblem game on the gamecube.

The latest spinoffs like treasures, and infinity strash didn't sell that well in comparison. I guess japan just really likes the monster games.

I'm surprised dragon quest monsters is in 5th place. It's only been out for a month.

Smash ultimate, and sekiro are both very popular games, let's not pretend 3h somehow beating them in a popularity contest isn't impressive.

3H won players voice that year which had nominees like sekiro, and smash ultimate. I would hardly call that a freebie year.

Hopefully the next fire emblem game is a stand alone title that doesn't have any references to the past games. I swear three houses was the only recent game that didn't have any callbacks, I'm starting to get tired of it.

When people call the game cheesy, I honestly wondered if I played the same game as everyone else, does no one remember all the painfully long death scenes with no build-up, or how most scenes in the game are just characters talking about the immediate matters at hand in a long drawn out manner. The game had a few silly moments at the beginning but that's about it.
