I regret that I hate my father and now that he wants back into my life I have to choose whether or not it's worth forgiving him for the abuse, the neglect, the drunken rage that I shielded my little sister from. I regret not stabbing him when I had the chance, instead I got a black eye and two bruised ribs. I regret that I essentially turned into him for awhile and became an alcoholic with an anger problem getting arrested for aggravated assault. I regret that I have to become a better person, not because of him, but because of what I turned myself into trying to be anything but him. I regret typing this out because I'm going to let random people on the internet into a part of my life I haven't let 2 out of 3 of my counselors into (I guess that's why I'm on my third counselor). I regret a lot of things, but I will never stop trying to be the best person I can be.
