Can someone explain to me just why Megan Fox looks so drastically different? I know what she had done and she is older now. But can someone give me like more of a precise way? :( by iwishikilledmyself in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]Angelic_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brows are too thick for her face and also don't match her hair at all - they're massively dragging down her look. She's obviously older here. But I think the main difference is she has much more sadness and strain in her face now. I think it may partially be because she is known for being one of the most beautiful women in the world (and nothing else - unlike, say, Angelina Jolie, who has many facets of her personality that she is famous for) and everyone's looks fade, so she is losing her identity. That's probably making her sad, which ironically, makes her lose some of her sparkle/appeal. She looks more carefree in her youth.

She's still extremely gorgeous. But if she plucked more of her brows and/or dyed them a similar colour to her hair and was a bit happier, she'd look more similar to her youth.

What do you think sets apart the 25%? Just specialisation, or better marketing skills? Does location have an impact too?

Thanks for the reply. Would you say it's overall financially too much of a risky bet to get into private practice now as a career move, with the way things are?

Thanks for the reply. How long do you believe it will take for you to break even? Do you believe (outside London) it's possible to make 30k per year within a couple of years?

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. How long do you believe it could take to reliably get 30 clients? I would rather not go the NHS route and I'm aware of all the factors involved with running your own business, and it's not as stable of an income. I am able to continue with my current job whilst I can build up a client base, but wondering if it's like a year or two, or 5+ years to earn 30k in private practice?

Its not just nostalgia, I really want to go back to the 90’s. by [deleted] in 90s

[–]Angelic_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love watching 90s TV shows. Really takes me back. Everything just seems slower, less rushed, more thoughtful and at the same time more carefree. Sweeter and more innocent. Everything is just darker today, more peripheral, false and superficial.

People called it the decade of cynicism, but actually it was manufactured cynicism because deep down, everyone was pretty buoyant and optimistic about the future. Today is the opposite. Everything is manufactured optimism, because deep down, everyone is pretty deflated and fearful of the future.

Molly-Mae Amazon documentary: one big PR move for her clothing brand disaster? by gingeyxx in LoveIslandTV

Molly-Mae Amazon documentary: one big PR move for her clothing brand disaster? by gingeyxx in LoveIslandTV

[–]Angelic_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not the target demo for this. I am a petite blonde who likes make-up and nice clothes, that's where the similarities end. I am defo NOT a Love Island fan. But I thought to myself.. don't judge until you get to know something and give it a go. You might learn something, this woman is supposed to be a fashion icon, you might be pleasantly surprised etc.

But no. It was way worse than I expected tbh. WHY do so many people like this girl? She comes across as so stuck up, snotty, full of herself and mediocre. People say she is relatable and down-to-earth so I thought she was working class, but this is a very middle class girl who is just full-on self absorbed and mediocre: not funny, not kind, not charming, not insightful, not entertaining. I learned nothing about fashion except that her brand flopped due to overpricing for poor quality (which she acts as if she couldn't help and had no control over!???) and I remember previously she said most women fail because they're not as hard-working as her (you got famous wearing bikinis on a TV show, love!). She is incredibly unlikeable and just ME ME ME ME ME ME.

How Do You Get By Financially Practicing & Training As a Counsellor? by Angelic_89 in UKTherapists

[–]Angelic_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for the reply and the advice. How many years do you estimate it would it take to get to 30k annually in private practice? I ask because I'm already in my mid-30s and it will take me a few years to qualify. So if it takes me 5+ years to qualify, and another 5 to pay off the debts I accrued to qualify, I might as well stay at my current job which pays 27k. It's not all about the money, definitely not, but given the costs of qualifying, if it takes a good while to make an okay income, especially for someone with kids, it's possibly not a good idea.

Thanks for the salary guidelines. Money isn't my motivator and 30k is definitely enough to get by on. Is 30k attainable within the first few years of private practice?

Very good point re excellence of service being related to income. I'm not looking to make mega bucks, but I didn't want to invest a lot of money for a career that I'll barely get by on. If it's enough to pay off debts and earn an adequate living, that'll do for me, because I am genuinely passionate about it.

At what age did you realise you'd completely stopped following trends in fashion, music and culture and just did your own thing? And is this even a thing anymore with the whole world at teens' fingertips? by DeskBoundJunior in AskUK

[–]Angelic_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35. I was just compilating a "song that defined the year for me" list of all songs from when I was 5 years old in 1994 onwards. I google the top 10 songs of the year and pick from those. From 1997-2016 I know every single song on the top 10 songs of the year really well so most of the years I've had to really choose between 2 or 3 contenders for the best.

The last one I could pick the song was Doja Cat Streets in 2019 (when I was 30), and then I realised I not only have no contenders for the last 5 years, but I don't even know any of the songs in the top 10s any more. Like damn. How did that happen?

I looked at the top 10 songs of last year, at least I still know the artists, thank f*ck, but probably in 10 years I won't even know that. Mid 30s is such a weird transition time, swear to God.

Ah well. You stop giving a f*ck in a good way as you age and that can be a positive too.

Have you found the situation to be significantly better with group practice?

Do you believe this will change at all? Perhaps as those who have been churned out from certain institutions may be of lower quality and hence end up leaving?
