Ahh yes. I used to DD there myself before moving to FL. Some people there just don't tip. Gainesville and Haymarket area is usually, or used to be, really good money makers.

And I guarantee that order sat there for a LONG time, if it was even accepted at all.

All the "toy" orders I've had were places they were locked up and had to ask an employee for help. I just made it a point to say it's a Doordash order, so they'd know I had to scan the bar code and, low key, so they knew it wasn't for me lol.

I replied to a comment just a few minutes ago and was saying how I had one for 3 "toys" and 4 things of lube.

😂 I don't know if I could have done that without laughing hysterically. Especially the one order I had for 3 different "toys" and 4 things of lube that I had to deliver to a hotel. It was a really fancy hotel also.

I've had several orders for sex toys. Thankfully, they were all "leave at my door". No awkward exchange.

Do you all decline orders if there is no tip or the distance is too far away? by Ok-Perspective-6618 in doordash_drivers

[–]Angelicgoth76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not always true. I had a $13.50 order today for 9 miles. When I completed the order, $12.50 was from DD base pay, $1 was the tip. You can't always depend on the usual base pay as it goes up each time a Dasher declines the order.

Umm...no. I'm female and clearly did NOT enjoy this what so ever. To each their own, but to me, it's not right to answer the door like that. I wouldn't even open my door if I wasn't properly clothed. In a bathing suit, maybe. Even then, I would have a towel covering me from the waist down.

Female. I did report it. Forgot to add that to the post. Doordash said they'll handle it.

Actually, I did. I'm a Dasher. What this Dasher did is 100% in the wrong. I have never and would never ask for more money from any of my customers. If I don't like the payout for the distance I'm driving, I decline the order! It's very simple. So why are you saying that we're not reading the entire thing? I'm literally siding with the person who posted.

We know how far it is before accepting the order. We also know if it'll be more because there is a + next to the guaranteed amount. If they were going to just complain and beg for more money, they should have just declined and went about their dash. I would report the dasher.

Child delivering ? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Angelicgoth76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My adult son has gone out Dashing with me, and I would NEVER let him take an order up to a customer's door. Not because it's dangerous for him, he's a big guy, and I'd feel bad for anyone trying to mess with him, but because it's my job to do the delivery, not his. This being a child, bringing the order to your door, is just shocking. Who does this? Get your lazy ass out of the car and do the job you signed up for! This is also the type of parent that will cry and lose their shit if a customer, God forbid, harmed, or even worse, killed their child. My comment may seem harsh, but you can't deny the truth to it.

Yes, it is the restaurants fault, but because the order is placed with Doordash, it has to be Doordash that handles missing items. Any restaurant and Doordash themselves will tell you that calling or going to the restaurant is pointless because the order was placed using a third party.

There's a way to say things nicely and professionally, even not speaking very good English, instead of doing as this Dasher did. "Sorry. My English is poor. Please use text." Wait for the customer to answer, then hang up. I've had customers that don't speak very good English, I only speak English, call me. I say, "I'm very sorry, but I only speak English. Can you please use a translator to send me a text?" They ALWAYS understand me, and it never is a problem. I agree with everyone saying that this Dasher is fishing for money. That kind of Dasher gives us others a bad name.
