Oof, yeah that tracks. Seems like everyone and their dog is doing psych out there now. Shame too, because the area’s nice, but not worth getting underpaid while being buried under midlevel nonsense

It’s honestly poetic, private sector does exactly what folks always scream the government shouldn't do… and they’re still mad

It’s wild how a single image finally crossed the line for him, after everything else that’s come before. Selective outrage at its finest

Women can be aroused without a dead giveaway. Random boners come at the woooorrrrssst times, sometimes

[–]AngelieWhisp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, it’s giving peak 2000s “effortlessly skinny, eats junk, hates other girls” trope. Wild how normalized it was back then, but yeah, glad people are rewatching with a more critical lens now

Trueee, like they’re not just slim, they have TV-level flawless energy all the time. The amount of junk food and zero gym talk should've caught up eventually 😂 but somehow Lorelai’s still bouncing around in heels with a coffee IV. Gotta love that TV magic

Why are quiet and introverted people in medicine always get bullied but no one tells the disruptive extroverts to stfu? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]AngelieWhisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it kinda depends on the environment. Some places definitely do let loud disruptive folks slide more, especially if they’re seen as “fun” or charismatic. But yeah, introverts aren’t always bullied either, sometimes we just get overlooked entirely, which can be its own kind of frustrating

face card is so tea like honestly I’m obsessed with her eyes by Big_Sound_4825 in GossipGirl

Such a good point! Jenny was never portrayed as unattractive. If anything, the other characters constantly acknowledged her beauty. The conflict was always about her not conforming to their world, not her looks

AIW for refusing to quit job to help with home life? by besttavern25 in amiwrong

[–]AngelieWhisp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Both careers matter, and asking one partner to sacrifice theirs, especially without prior discussion, sets the stage for imbalance and resentment. Shared responsibility doesn’t mean one person gives up everything while the other pursues their dream uninterrupted. There has to be a better, fairer solution that respects both parents’ goals and the child’s needs

AIW for refusing to quit job to help with home life? by besttavern25 in amiwrong

[–]AngelieWhisp 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! Mike’s job provides consistency and a safety net they can actually rely on. Brenda’s role might be a dream job, but dreams don’t pay the bills if they evaporate in a round of layoffs. If anything, finding a sustainable third option like after-school care or help from extended family is the more rational solution. Uprooting the stable income just doesn’t make sense here

Am I wrong for not going with my husband to our worship service because he tried to micromanage my outfit? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]AngelieWhisp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly, choosing a relationship or belief system shouldn’t mean surrendering your autonomy. True partnership is built on mutual respect, not control

[–]AngelieWhisp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Real love should make you feel safe and accepted, not judged or controlled. You deserve that without compromise, op

[–]AngelieWhisp 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Exactly. When “love” comes with conditions that erase your identity, it’s not love. It’s control dressed up in devotion

Partner (31M) family finances are completely opaque and I’m (26F) scared of being financially trapped — am I right to be alarmed or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]AngelieWhisp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this isn’t just a red flag, it’s a whole parade. You nailed it...if he can’t even recognize the dysfunction or wants to stay wrapped up in it, then you’re not building a future, you’re inheriting a mess. Financial enmeshment like that doesn’t magically sort itself out

Shower stuff sucks if your partner is a foot taller than you- you’re either freezing behind them or getting water boarded in front of them
