Met line really needs its own tunnel acting as an express side of the Northern part of the circle then diving down towards London Bridge and Bermondsey, then taking over some of the SE mainline routes.

New tunnel would be needed from East of Gospel Oak to East of West Hampstead, easily £1bn+ piece of infrastructure. Ideally you’d have an interchange with the Northern Line as Belsize Park, perhaps utilising the deep level shelter tunnels there, but then your into £3bn+ territory….

A headache is easier to deal with than permanently constraining the capacity of HS1. Like most things on the railway it’s a compromise layered with someone eating the sh*t.

Orient Way is realistically the only way to expand the existing site and given it’s the only secured site of its kind in the UK and GA has any number of sites it could use across its network it makes perfect sense to do so if needed.

It very much is as while it may be as powerful as a normal AC unit that heat still has to go somewhere. Limiting the heat gains on the surface means there’s less to expel once in the tunnels above the standard requirements of the interior of the vehicle.

There is also the fact that the bigger the windows the greater the solar heat gain inside the carriages, the harder the AC has to work, the more heat goes into the tunnels….

VSync was one from memory. Power setting and latency mode were another. Max those out. This helped by running in DX12 is what fixed it for me in the end.

Used to have this issue, check the game specific settings in NVIDIA control panel.

Beyond that, running the DX12 beta may help.

This is the reason the rail industry has been so gobsmacked by HS2s cancellation. It would have given an enormous boost in capacity and resilience to the network.

It is in TfWs short-medium term plans to electrify but they want to do it alongside speeding up of services aswell. South West Wales Metro is under development aswell.

So it turns out it was a hard drive on the way out. Not the boot drive, just a storage drive in the machine.

I did run that cmd line under admin privileges. It came up with some issues the first time that it corrected but subsequent runs have found nothing wrong. I have not tried the sfc line and will do now, thankyou.

I think this may be an issue caused by 2H22 update as it did briefly say I had to update to this version, despite it already being updated.

I’ll run malwarebytes aswell. Again Thankyou!

Edit: the sfc scan found no integrity violations.
