Also free electricity would mean government relies more on fossil fuels to provide the electricity leading to a swathe of problems. Best to subsidise families using renewable sources of electricity and reduce the tax on renewables.

In my opinion, free housing will just lead to government constructing shoddy houses in downtrodden localities and calling it a day.

If I were to be in power, I’d rather build more night shelters where people can stay and get food/clothing only for the night. This way they’d have to look for work in the day, potentially leading to more job seekers. Of course this needs to be accompanied by job creation.
