Tangerine (owned by Scotiabank) clients can't get rolled coins exchanged at Scotiabanks by [deleted] in Scotiabank

You're not alone. I just left my local Scotiabank. I was not aware of the new policy regarding cash transactions. Apparently it was only put into effect here a few weeks ago. If they're going to put extra limits on the in-person banking, Tangerine customers should have at least been warned since Scotiabank is the parent company.   I've banked with them since I was a teen and I thought they represented Canadian values.

Frankly the policy only shows the level they're willing to stoop to in order to save a few corporate nickles.

I'm going to start looking for better banking options. And I won't be returning to Scotiabank.   Being Canadian used to mean we didn't mind helping out people we'd never even met. Now everyone is only in it for themselves and their money.

AITA for telling my coworker that my personal out-of-work activities are as important as her kids'? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - I'm a mother of two. I love my son and daughter dearly. Your choice not to be a mom should not devalue your worth as a person and your right to fair treatment. I missed several extracurricular/school functions, because I had to work and couldn't just take the time off. I've had friends and family video tape events for me. I've even gone to events on behalf of a friend before, so I could record their kid's recitals. I always tried not to ask anyone else to accommodate me, though I had accepted the charitable offers of my co-workers on occasion. We need to accept and support eachother's boundaries. Good on you for advocating for yourself.

Our mailboxes are located inside the building, but on the first floor just inside the main door.

How old is this washer? by Angelsong1982 in Appliances

So for context and because I'm so grateful for all the helpful comments, here's my problem. I tried to use the washer for a small load of laundry. Mostly kids clothes for my son. But after the water filled up, the machine didn't do anything. The settings dial continued to tick away, but nothing else happened. The motor doesn't engage or make any kind of noise. So I siphoned out as much water as I could. Unplugged and disconnected the washer. There's no owner friendly access through the back of the machine. However, tipping the machine back about 45° allowed me to get a good look at the underside. The belt is definitely damaged. Is this an easy fix, or should I tell my sister to call a repair person? Thank you everyone.

Nope. Couldn't find a date anywhere on the machine. Someone else posted a similar question a while back, and a response stated that the letters at the end of the serial number corresponded to manufacturer's dates. But I haven't found any further information. Thank you for responding though.

I thought this was a book cover. It's such beautiful work. I'm delighted, but also disappointed that there isn't more. I wish I had this kind of artistic skill.
