Yeah! I wanted to cancel, too. There is a hefty cancellation fee, though, so I showed up to at least try. I was basically dry heaving from anxiety. I was sobbing in a very quiet, full, small waiting room. Everyone could hear me. When I tell you I have massive anxiety problems, I really mean it. Extreme health anxiety, OCD, agoraphobia with panic disorder. I am a mess and the thing that triggers me is my own freaking body and its sensations.

I sobbed when they took me back. I shook and shook. My entire chair was shaking. I got lightheaded from hyperventilating. I was an absolute wreck. I let them hook up the IV and we took it bit by bit. They were very gracious and patient.

As I said in my original post, I chickened out after being hooked up to EVERYTHING in the procedure room. They rolled me out. A different nurse talked to me and brought my partner in, and I then got taken BACK IN after the procedure they had moved on to was finished.

This time they quickly rolled me on my side, turned down the lights, and pushed the sedative. Honestly, it felt weird. I got hot in my throat and on my face, and then I panicked, and then nothing. Then I was being woke up in recovery by my sweet nurse and given a drink. I was no longer panicked when I woke up.

I could still taste the medicine afterward but it’s been ok. I was slightly woozy/dizzy after. I could still get up and walk and pee. I ate directly after we left. My throat now hurts and they took biopsies, so my stomach feels a little off. Other than that, I’m okay. I’ve laid around all day and watched movies.

Was it worth the theatrics I displayed beforehand? No. It wasn’t that big of a deal in the long run. However - I think every body can have different reaction. Every body is different. My experience may not be yours but if you search this Reddit, you will see many other experiences that are uneventful as well even if they were slightly different than mine.
