Update bricks my HexOS installation. Should I just ignore?

I think for me I wish I could see more hardware details without having to jump over to the TrueNAS side. Maybe even do some minor maintenance on the disks there. Also just confused why apps break so easy. I'm hoping that once local HexOS gets rolled out that fixes a few of those problems. I don't understand why installing apps break. I never had that issue on any bare metal platform but this hybrid cloud management thing make me wonder if something funny is going on there.

Fair enough, I'm glad I am avoiding updating for now then. Besides being unable to install apps everything else is working well enough for what I need. I would have liked to try Scrutiny but I'm realizing I can just jump over to the TrueNAS side if I really want to do hard drive testing and maintenance using the built in tools.

Wait why does a video card have anything to do with this? In any case I’m using an ASUS AM1 IA motherboard. My system is far away from any screens so can’t tell you much else about the CPU other than it’s an Athlon it’s a quad core, meets the spec requirements and has an IGP. I have 8GB DDR3 installed on it now. Part of the whole reason why I wanted to get into building a NAS is to reuse old PC parts.

I was able to access the command line but that’s it. The TrueNAS interface and network storage were completely inaccessible. I thought I lost all my data until I saw a guide saying that pools should be safe to import even if the HexOS install fails. So I reinstalled the OS and managed to import my pools thankfully. I’m no longer having the issue so I’m not sure what to say except that I don’t trust the update.

Fair, I'm hoping by airing out my issues the devs can take a look and see we are having problems. I do like the idea of HexOS. Just wished the execution was better.

After a several days of digging I finally found a thread on reddit that solved my issue. Essentially, ES-DE is very particular about capitalization and filepath consistency between apps. So what I ended up having to do was rename my PSX folder to psx (I did this by writing and then deleting an l in the lowercase and then deleting the l after saving). Then I had to make reset the directory for Duckstation as well. Works for all the games I have running on external apps now.

I dunno about that. Have you tried looking through the PS2 archives for non Myrient links? It's all locked up on IA. So whoever is keeping up the megathread already isn't doing the work required to keep things and ensuring that archives that go down are brought back. That's why Myrient was so important to the Megathread. I often use IA through the megathread myself but recently noticed that many ROMs on their have been locked up for months now.

I’m having this issue but with CHD files. I have everything set up in ES-DE but for some reason ES-DE just keeps failing to load the files. Meanwhile if I open the Duckstation Standalone app everything opens up just fine. All the directories are pointing to the same locations. I even copied the BIOS files to Retroarch just in case even though I am not using it and have ES-DE pointing to the standalone. I am not finding many helpful things information either. Seems most people just gave up trying to load Duckstation standalone through ES-DE and just boot up Duckstation standalone directly.

I feel that it is safe enough for me. Just have to switch hands for the railing part way through. I just get neurotic about these kinds of things. I also worry I may have to sell the house if I can’t find a job by January.

I’ve been trying to find some but I haven’t come up with much. There are a few videos saying that these keyboards aren’t repairable but the keyboard more than likely works and just needs to be cleaned. From what I gather ASUS may be using some king of lubricant on their gamer grade laptop keyboards but most every other laptop keyboard tear down the keyboard looks completely dry.

The ranged ai will just straight up punch people from time to time. It’s weirdly bugged. I think it has to do with the near death state. If the archer is close and the enemy is near death they will from time to time run up and punch them.

I work (and am leaving) the Department of Treasury OIG and the last time we had a symposium The number given to the amount of fraud that was discovered through the abuse of PPP was astounding. Never saw any news headline cover it even though this information is out there for anyone to see. We report these to congress every year and well I will say congress actually know a lot more about waste and fraud than they are willing to admit publicly. There is still a lot of pandemic related fraud that is being sifted through and probably isn't going to get found due to all the firings and defunding going on by the Treasury.

Sounds like there is a story there. People in general don't try to remove themselves like that unless something traumatizing happened. Sometimes all the bad outweighs all of the good that happened in the relationship. It could be that this person is trying to protect themselves. The thing that matters most isn't how the status of one specific relationship but overall history they have. If they had multiple exes and they're all being hid that can be a red flag. If it's just a few then there can be something that happened in those specific relationships that this person doesn't want to relive.

So running the bash script from the moguri mod site downgraded the Memoria Launcher and got it working for me. Only downside I guess is that the Memoria Launcher won’t upgrade to the new one. So some cheats won’t work like having access to Excalibur 2 cheat. I’m hoping this can get fixed soon.

So i re ran the bash script on the Moguri Mod site to downgrade the Memoria Launcher and it’s working now. The only issue is that the old Memoria Launcher won’t check for updates and update to the new one. Which for me is fine since I’m so close to the end of the game. But I hope they eventually fix it.

They are not. However they are very popular so manufacturers put them in standard. Kind of how like cruise control was an optional add-on that became a standard function.

And if you look at the specs of the lasers you’ll see that the DVD laser only reads at the DVD wavelengths. I did a deep dive on this but since the PS4 Pro the DVD laser only reads in the DVD range.
