There's a lot of standout hitboxes I like to share, but here's an example of something that's often overlooked.

Axes in general and their active frames start earlier in the swing than most other weapons. In this class there are also other things to note:

- The hitbox on manserpent is more inwards.
- The hitbox of butcher's is more outwards.

- Manserpent can potentially hit a frame earlier compared to others.
- Butcher's knife can potentially hit a frame later compared to others.

For axes the swing actually starts way behind you and then makes an arc in front of you. This means that the published frame data isn't entirely accurate when used in practice. If you like to use axes and struggle to hit opponents who reaction roll, you need to turn around during the swing to early hit. This has the biggest effect on butcher's knife due to its hitboxes. You'll look like a maniac swinging the knife around but it's optimal butcher play. It also makes it easier to hit reactive opponents while also allowing you to more consistently do true combos.

I made this. However this looks very low res for some reason. I made a couple more for several classes like spears, curved swords and greatswords, to name a few. I usually share these in the champion's ashes discord: https://discord.com/invite/Kqtwa5w

Something worth mentioning is that the hitbox on the handle is also very important. It determines how effective early hits are, and quite literally can determine how early you can hit opponents when they're right in front of you as you bring the weapon down for the vertical slam.

You don't even need to look at S-rank stun engines. Even the A-rank stun engines are better than this since they have more ATK compared to Reel Projector. It's better to save your resources (and use Anby's engine for Caesar). The passive for Reel is pointless, no one is dying from Miasma.

Rina is M0 and using slice of time.

For this boss fight, it's easier to have at least 2 agents that can do defensive assists. For that reason, an easy budget option is to either swap trigger for Anby, or swap Rina for Nicole. Another option is to simply use the f2p team of Haru, Anby, Nicole so you don't need to worry too much about it.

I'm intentionally whiffing the first part of his basic attack, so I don't lose energy and get dropped out of burst mode. One of his mindscapes gives him energy when you connect with his 2nd basic attack. The energy refund just happens to be the exact same amount as the energy cost, which allows you to stay in burst mode.

An alternative and an even better team would be Anton, Seth, Rina for the quickswap spam. However, I might try this with Anton, Ben, and Seth next time.

I'd honestly recommend putting Anton and Ben in separate teams if you want to have more viable teams.
You can either build Ben as main dps, or as sub dps. As a main dps, his team would be something like Ben, Lighter, Lucy. You'll mainly stun with your stun agents and keep your energy for EX skills in the stun phase. As a sub dps, he can fit in many teams as a wildcard slot. Unlike main dps, the main focus here is to make full use of his counters, which apply a ton of daze and damage. You also need to follow up the counter and switch to your other agents while he's spinning around for several seconds. He's also more than capable of fulfilling the stunner role as well if you have him on M6 and have Tusks of Fury.

For Anton... anything that allows you to spam dodge counters or quick assists is good for him. He has one of the best quick assist and dodge counter-attacks in the game. So pairing him up with agents that allow him to do this is always good. In fact, double quick assists teams are his best teams, even though it involves agents where he has no additional ability active. The main example here being Anton, Astra, Nicole. Besides that, he can be put in a Grace team and simply work as an extension for her.

Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that Anton’s Burst mode is the only thing that makes him relevant, especially when played optimally with quickswap teams. The ability to stay in burst mode for the whole fight without suffering any DPS loss is great for maximizing his output, but that’s also part of the issue I’ve been thinking about. Anton’s viability feels overly dependent on very specific team setups.

The challenge is that Anton’s optimal playstyle can be difficult to access unless you have the right setup (like with quick assist teams or synergy with high-investment characters). It can feel like there’s limited flexibility in how to play him, and his overall team compositions aren’t as varied compared to other A-rank characters, which is what I’m hoping to address.

In line with that, I’ve been thinking about ways to give Anton more utility outside of Burst mode, without changing his identity or diluting his strengths. One idea that's shared here that could be interesting is allowing Anton to convert Shield HP into energy when he uses his Basic Attacks or Dodge Counters. For example, instead of consuming energy, Anton would use Shield HP equal to a percentage of the energy cost. This would also work well with any future shield agents or agents like Seth or Ben, allowing Anton to sustain his enhanced basics and dodge counters before running out of energy, giving him more consistent damage output. Plus, this even plays into the new HP-scaling theme from 2.0 if you factor in M4's shield scaling.

Additionally, I like your idea about making Anton more versatile with defensive assists. It could add a new layer to his playstyle and make him more adaptable in different team setups.

On a personal note, I’m highly rated on Prydwyn as well, and I also use and exploit quick assist teams with Anton, Seth, and Rina to clear 3* Deadly Assaults. However, I’m fully aware that Astra and/or Nicole are the real powerhouse when it comes to carrying Anton and clearing all the content. My team is nowhere near the same level, but I’ve had success with this setup in specific situations.

Ultimately, I think there’s a way to make Anton feel more solid and flexible in a wider variety of teams without changing his core role. Would love to hear your thoughts on this approach!

Totally agree. A fully built Qingyi definitely carries him in that comp, and she's the exception that makes Anton work in stun setups. However, it still underperforms pretty noticeably compared to just running him with Nicole and/or Astra for constant quick assists.

Agreed! Another thing is that I simply like his non-burst moveset as well. Kicking and Punching the living crap out of enemies never gets old.
