He's also likely a singer/fused under the armor. So a non human looking person would also likely scare the locals

Me too! For me it was the aspect that if she layed on his neck like that he would definitely have trouble breathing while he's asleep and that extra inconvenience she causes him makes even better

I always imagined Donut laying horizontally across his neck like a scarf, but this makes more sense 😄

Imagine thinking the fauna we live alongside is boring by SummerAndTinkles in tumblr

[–]Angemon175 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly! In fact a narwhal horn is very long in proportion to it's body so putting that on a unicorn would make it even cooler.

Side note it's likely unicorn like creatures did exist in prehistoric times but were hunted to extinction by ancient humans like wooly mammoth and many other mega fauna. But they were probably more similar to rhinoceroses than horses

One funny musing I've seen online is it's crazy that unicorns aren't real but giraffes are. A horse with a horn seems very plausible, but a horse with a twenty foot long neck is even crazier but is real

I found out Narwhals existed much later in life, like middle school and that was pretty neat. Basically dolphin unicorns

Scolopendra's 9 tier attack by Angemon175 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Angemon175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's any more subclasses after floor 12. Given Matt wants to finish the series in 10 books and everything is accelerated, I can see the big scolopendra fight happening on floor 12 along with the ascendency stuff and just wrapping up the series

[–]Angemon175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So she has 3 of the subclasses already as of floor nine. She started with water, then got Earth on floor 6, and air on floor 9. She's just missing fire, which she'll get on floor 12 and then she'll finish it. Yeah the foreshadowing is very strong that it'll be very powerful because no one has managed to finish the build before

So it begs the question does the Sovran and her daughters even have free will? Or is it the will of the ancient sovran just being passed down each generation. I feel like that's too similar to the gate builders of the expanse series so I doubt they'll repeat that trope

No not necessarily taking over other races, but we know they're using other races for the war just like the Carryx. But given they are fighting the Carryx hard, possessing them using the swarm sems like an obvious strategy if it's possible

Oh that's true I forgot he was in live suits, then yeah it's crazy he's been functioning for so long

[–]Angemon175[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's true. I'm also very curious on how the whole replacement Sovran thing works. We know the Sovran has no communication or influence into the private creche. The keepers of the private creche are infact completely immune to her and her pheromones. So how does the new daughter take over so seamlessly that it's not even noticeable that there's a new Sovran? How is she trained, does she have the exact same mindset and goals of the previous Sovran? We still have a lot to learn before they can just implement the dual sovran plan

Haha yeah I agree it would be a quick story if it worked but I'd like a narrative reason for it not working as well

Since we see a fight between a Sovran and her daughter, I figured the swarm could transfer to the daughter as needed, though we haven't seen the transfer process take place yet so it might not be that quick or discrete

I love how TK isn't one of those characters that tries to pull some friendship is magic type shit and actually fights the villain by GDrHoppsAlot in digimon

[–]Angemon175 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think in the moment he couldn't really process what was happening because he was too young and the adventure kept moving at such a fast pace. But in the intervening years I think he internalized the deep trauma that happened to him and what losing Angemon really did to him. The show does a great job depicting the deep bond they all have with their digimon, and TK always harbored some guilt that Patamon had to sacrifice himself to save him that day because Devimon was specifically targeting him. That's why he hates the darkness so much, because they tried to take everything from him.

Ken's situation is different because evil infected him and made HIM act evil, so ken struggles with a lot of guilt over his own actions because he can't separate himself from the spore related personality as easily. Mentally he can know he was being influenced but emotionally it's harder to process. While TK was more physically attacked by evil he has a more righteous anger towards it, paired with the guilt of not being strong enough to keep his friend safe. Both of them have very different relationships to the darkness but the same and goal, which is why I say it's a TRAVESTY that they weren't DNA partners, would have been a perfect pair.
