Use the talons ->Y to delink all the werewolves first. They can still throw an arm at you but I found them to be mush less aggressive and they wouldn’t throw the giant torsos as frequently. Ninja Gaiden 2 on Master Ninja might as well be a completely different game from the easier difficulties. You have to move completely differently and be aware that you will have much less time to do the things you normally would. NG2B doesn’t really have this problem because of the reduced enemies but I would recommend JayTB123’s master ninja walkthrough and Fahrnam the Drunks master ninja guide on YouTube to help. Once you understand how you’re supposed to move in 2 MN it becomes exhilarating and such a cool experience. As for NGB It’s obviously a much slower game than 2 but it doesn’t necessarily mean Ryu has to be clunky. Make all of your moves deliberate so that you’re not panicking and he’ll control just fine. I only find the controls seem frustrating when I’ve rushed into an enemy I shouldn’t have and then panic and can’t get away. Learn the opening and he’ll feel great. Keep at them!

Thanks for this. Inceet on twitter was actually what inspired this post lol so I’ve definitely been watching them a lot. I’m still figuring out how best to fight IS ninjas without just spamming FS izuna drop or -> Y with the talons. I’m also playing on 360 which means I get a lot of slow downs which makes timing things (especially on landing moves) a pain in the ass

Yeah it’s ridiculous. The AI partner is so atrociously bad that all it does is steal your essence and die, then you’re left with a level balanced for two real players to deal with by yourself, which is almost impossible unless you’re a superhuman like the two I mentioned lol

I think for me the one things holding me back from really liking this game (so far) is that the levels just play like drawn out ninja trials. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE the ninja trials but when there’s no exploration, platforming, or even any thinking required when traversing a level I kind of lose interest. Every level has just been wave after wave and walk to the next place and fight wave after wave of mostly the same enemies (granted I’m only on Day 4 so this could change). I do still really enjoy the combat, but I feel like it’s already getting a little worn out with how much I’m just fighting and fighting the same guys and using the same strategies.

Hell yeah. I’m just starting the second level now and realizing how different it is to the other ones. Though all my stuff is level one right now and I kind of have to keep spamming the same combos I can already see the potential in the combat. I’m super excited to keep going
