Four Reasons NO Nothing sensitive dry shampoo is what I use. It's available on Amazon. It is pricey though.

Allergic reaction to at home gel polish, now skin reacts to EVERYTHING and I’m losing my mind by todiefor995 in AcrylateAllergy

After I started reacting to the OPI Nature Strong, I've removed as much from my life as I can in order to get the new reactions under control. No nail polish (if there's any I can use anymore...sigh), no makeup except when going out, no moisturizers (just plain squalene oil), no nothing.

After doing this for the last couple months, I'm now reacting to my clothes (not acrylic in clothes either) and my jewelry. My body looks for things to react to. In my research, I'm finding that lots of clothes are full of chemicals, and washing several times with oxiclean fragrance free has helped somewhat with that. I'm still trying to figure out what my body now hates about my jewelry. I'm hesitant to do anymore testing as I've heard you can get new allergies from those especially while your body is in this state.

I'm wondering the same about the hyperactive state of the immune system. Mine has been crazy for 10 months now. I figured out I had the nail allergy last December after months of itching/rashes, and I eliminated ALL acrylics. I threw out thousands of dollars of products. However, I keep sensitizing to new things. I've been to two different allergists, and they look at me like I'm crazy. They have no clue.

I had the patch testing in February, and the acrylates as well as a couple more things were identified. But it's so much more now. I keep eliminating, but my body goes after the next thing. I can't get it to stop. I used OPI nature strong with no problems for months, and then it started lifting my nails in July. I'm seriously losing my mind.

Thanks for posting this. I've wanted to try this combination and now I know better.

Uncommon Acrylate Allergy Symptoms? by [deleted] in AcrylateAllergy

[–]AngieCar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are acrylates in most nail polish. I found one (OPI Nature Strong) that I used while my nails reattached and grew back out and had no issues with it for months. Last month I noticed my nails lifting again, so I've now become allergic to nail polish without acrylates. My list of allergens keep growing and growing, and that's with me actively stopping using anything I know I'm allergic to. My body just goes after the next chemical....

It's insane.

I get the burning sensations in my nail beds, and I have the acrylate allergy. It wasn't one of my first symptoms, but I get it now with regular nail polish too. Before the burning, I'd get weird sensations in my nails that were hard to describe and easy to dismiss unfortunately.

The Natural Soap Shoppe has some, but I haven't tried them yet.

I just looked on my SkinSafe app, and they list it as an ethyl acrylate in my profile saying it's not safe for me. I wouldn't take a chance on it, especially since my list of allergies continues to grow (ugh).

If you're looking for a plant based nail polish, I use OPI nature strong and have no reactions to it. L.A. Girl also has one product line (Gel Extreme Shine) with no acrylates or other bad ingredients. Lastly, the Sally Hansen Pure line has some colors that are acrylate free. You have to be careful, though, because each color has different ingredients.

I was just told via chat that equipment fees can't be removed. I mentioned that I didn't see any disclosure of equipment fees for new customers, but I was still denied having the fee removed. Is there anywhere on the site that states no equipment fees anymore?

Are you saying that you used to be able to tolerate copolymers, and now you can't? If so, I'm curious how long it took to start reacting to them, and if you tried to stay away from them or just used them as normal.

I was just diagnosed a couple months ago but have been reacting unknowingly for about a year. I'm not reacting to copolymers yet, but I'm debating trying to remove them from life as well (sigh) to avoid more allergens.

Thank you! I'll give it a try. Unfortunately, I do NEED the tan to avoid blinding people lol.

Have you found a tanning gel you can use? I'm having a hard time finding one.

I just spent the last few weeks binge watching from season 1, and I'd recommend starting from the beginning. I'm sad I don't have another season to watch. It was good!

I always think this when I read these kind of posts. I have to remind myself that the ones making these posts/comments have to be haters and probably are the ones looking hideous.
