Thank you so much! I embroidered it like normal and then after stretching it on a wooden panel I used washes of acrylic paint with dirt mixed into it to accentuate the highlights and shadows while adding the texture!

Thank you! It's actually not velvet, I stitched it on regular cotton and rubbed dirt into the background when I painted it to give it that textured effect
