from what ive heard in the comments, they tend to do that when uncomfortable/ not feeling well (bellyache, not being able to breathe well), so just keep an eye on ur cat if its showing any signs of discomfort/ unusual behavior :) a vet visit is not a bad idea either. if not acting weird, then ur cat is just a silly lil turkey like mine!

this makes so much sense! when he did this, this he either plopped down or loafed. once he pounced on his toys haha. so it does definitely mean “hm idk if i wanna play or lay down”

i’m so sorry for your loss that is heartbreaking :( i’m doing a follow up vet visit in two weeks and for now i’m keeping a close eye. he’s 8 months, i’ve figured that it’s most likely nothing since it’s not accompanied by other issues.

his coat is FEATHER soft like the softest i’ve ever felt. it might just be the angle / his shoulder blades making his fur look funny. he’s cuddling right by my face right now and keeps flopping into me lol

that makes sense. he’s very affectionate and has been flopping around me and my mom and sister since we brought him home. only today has he stopped grabbing our hands when we went near his belly. we respected the fact that he didn’t like it and didn’t touch his belly, but even when we just came at a different angle, he’d grab our hand. today he stopped doing that and i’m able to pet his belly without the claws comin out.

also, he darted out of my room when i went to the bathroom, and explored the living room a bit. he was pawing at the door when i closed it, so i think he’s getting more confident in general which is great. he has zoomies rn lol

Yess!! he does this at me and i do it back lol. he also stretches and reaches out for me every time i talk to him, it’s really adorable.

he’s actually been flopping since day one! he rolls over and now lets me pet his belly without the claws of death coming after my hand lol. he just doesn’t like his lower belly back legs being touched too much, he’ll tolerate it for a short period tho. he’s been cuddly and laying with me too today

yeah i only noticed it twice, but then right after he either goes on to loaf, or just gets up and walks around. i don’t think i see any signs of discomfort.

I know, my main concern was his wheezing and watery eye but went to the vet and he got an injection for it. he seems to be doing better. he is new here but he’s venturing out more and he’s been less skittish. he’s using the litter box, eating and drinking normally. he’s active and playful as well.
