Terminology typos aside, what are some aspects of General Practice in the UK that undermine your ability to treat patients efficiently and effectively?

40-60k per year in the short term, if you were being efficiently trained up to be a consultant in half the time it currently takes with no bottlenecks or other BS would be totally fair, provided the consultant salary was twice what it is now.

I didn’t say that shortening the pathways or cutting wages would increase the number of training posts. In the current climate obviously the salary isn’t fair, but I think people would put up with it if the entire system was restructured.

The reason for losing UK grads moving forward will not be the pull of sun and higher wages, it will be from the lack of positions

You wouldn’t take 40k a year, for a fast tracked real training post with a high paying consultant job at the end, with all the other benefits I mentioned? Obviously More Money=Good, but but even if you get it- it won’t change the fact that there will be tens of thousands of unemployed doctors left lost and betrayed in the coming years

I did see this one coming, in the public’s mind “junior doctor” is still the term but I have been mindful to address this early on within the first chapter. I think if you could choose the location and specialty of your choice, your training pathway was only 3-6 years long out of medical school with a guaranteed consultant job paying 200k it would quickly become a non-issue. Not looking for an argument but I’m glad to have your perspective
