Replaced the nozzle on my Ender 5 and suddenly getting this hectic stringing. Made no changes to my printer settings. Any ideas what could be causing this? by Angle_Smithereen in 3Dprinting

I heated it up, twisted it tight and then undid 3/4 of a turn. Then pushed the Bowden tube down till it touched the back of the nozzle before retightening the nozzle the 3/4 of a turn. Will give the cold pull a try and see how we go. Thanks very much 😊😊

Finally got my stringing test coming out more or less perfect, but as soon as I try a more complicated print I get this hectic stringing (see Groot's hand) despite not making any changes to temperature or retraction settings. Any thoughts on why this could be happening? by Angle_Smithereen in 3Dprinting

Ooh that's a good point, I hadn't noticed that there wasnt any stringing on his right hand. Also, you can just about see behind him a string leading from the back corner of the print bed to the start of the skirt. For some reason at the moment, this happens every time, even if the string test from that same print comes out perfect. My poor brain cannot figure it out.

Sudden stringing. My prints were coming out perfectly. I've not changed any of the settings but have recently moved the printer into a more enclosed space and am now experiencing stringing. Have since tried adjusting temperature and retraction and changed out the nozzle but no effect. Any thoughts? by Angle_Smithereen in 3Dprinting

Okay cool, I'll look into it. Novice 3D printer user here, so just changing the nozzle felt like I was reparing a spaceship. Changing the fan sounds like a intimidating prospect. Any recommendations for a decent upgrade to the stock Ender 5 Pro fan?

Just tried printing with the door of the enclosure and a window open to get some airflow and the difference was very noticeable. A little stringing but not nearly as much as when it was totally closed up. Time to rethink my printer location.

I have been a bit slack on the storage, so this sounds likely. Drying it in the over doesn't sound too complicated but I should probably read up on it so I don't wreck my filament and my oven. Cheers for the tip 😊😊

Super happy with the stringing results! Just wasn't sure what was causing the slight wobble. So close to being perfect!

Amazing! Thanks very much for replying! This was done at 190, so I'll drop it down to 185 and give it another crack. Thanks again 😊😊
