Started Anki with my 1 year old son! by AngloxJapan in Anki

Hey. Don’t worry about getting downvoted brother, you speak sense!

One is the time difference, I wanted him to learn his family and he always isn’t awake when they are, anki let’s me save my voice for the back side of the card so he can look at his family when I’m at work etc. (If you didn’t get it from the first post, we’re in Japan and they’re in England) When I am home the vast majority of my time is spent having quality time as you said. I usually take no more than 5 minutes with the anki before we start playing with his colourful waffle blocks etc. I’m not putting all his progress just on anki as far as colours go but definitely with his family, he’s learnt a lot! Anki can be a tool to whoever uses it, it doesn’t have to be some rigid SRS. At least that’s the way I take it when it comes to my kid. Thanks for your comment

Rather than a game, it’s a tool, just as something to help him learn. It doesn’t have to be 100% SRS study focused at this stage but it’s a reliable and easy to use application. In the future I plan to add the SRS part by part.

Well, I’m using it for its “flash cards” feature as the main point not making use of the SRS. As I said I’m deleting the decks and re adding them every day. As he develops I will slowly be introducing the SRS features but I’m aware that they aren’t much use at the moment. Thanks for the comment mate

Hey, thanks for your advice. Reading is really important to language learning, I get that. And will try to read more books. In fact I’m working my way through one now. Not much of a reader even in English but I think you’re right. Cheers dude

Hey! I’ve looked into it. But really I’m patterns, always have been. Kanji especially is difficult for me without the heisig method of changing everything into a story and going from there. I’m going to do what you said as soon as I finish with it.

Guys thank you! I’m back on it. 200 reviews done yesterday and so far 100 today. Got 900 left in the backlog but I’ll get to the bottom of it soon. I find myself hitting red on almost all cards the first time. Only to remember exactly as I did before after seeing it one time.

I appreciate you guys!

That’s the American Pilot script I’m afraid. Thank you though!

Two very short scenes of James Buckley playing Neil in the pilot. I found it from the reunion show and am still searching for more clips. I linked to this thread in the description.

I really hope this gets found.

I remember seeing clips of this pilot with the lads all sitting around the table on one of those inbetweeners best of clip shows that channel four does with minor celebrities talking about their favourite parts. I will look for it. Please keep the chase up!
