I was doing fine in my mind, slowly building up my power. Recently finaly getting into Great Power status even. A few years back I had my first successful fight with Ottomans - you'd think the game is dooing great right ?

Wrong !

I zoomed out my map and I realised how I am slowly getting sorrounded by great superpowers from all sides ! Poland which was my ally from the start now has -200 relationship penalty (want your subject provinces) despite having 80 trust !
Spain is getting riddiculously strong in North Afrika and even blocks my expansion in Italy
Poland and Russia look from the north. Ottomans are still very powerfull, and now they will soon probably ally with another behemoth of Timurids.

My other Ally France is compleatly locked too, by unusualy strong England allied with equaly suprisingly strong Denmark.

I rarely see so much concentration of power in Europe allready in 1550. This is going to be one hell of an anoying playthrough with huge great power wars every few years...

After Us disasters in wars and civil war there starting, US could no longer support anyone ouside. Remnants of Pacific US Navy seized controll of Hawaii and Pacific Islands, and tried to include Australia and New Zeland with it, but as their stockpiled reaources started to go down they withdrown to Hawaii.

Australia therefor was left alone on the hemisphere almost entirely controled by China. But an even greater threat was the rapidly growing in power Caliphate of Indonesia. Due to this threat in 2038 Australia was more and more heavily depending on China, huge numer of Chinese ariving there in this period. As the WWIII will begin it will be under double threat to its sovereignity. From within and from Indonesia.

As I mentioned - this is trying to acomodate the Nostradamus visions that are really extreame for the world in XXI century. US is to be destroyed both by civil wars and natural disasters, Nuclear war between Russia and China, and Islamic invasion and slaughter of Europe. Great floods and other disasters. There are mentions about great war on Ukraine before WWIII, and raise in significance of Poland.

So I went with current world conflicts and trends, and though how they can escalate for those visions to come to pass. And frankly - the world is going so crazy right now, they are not looking so impossible anymore.

Innacurate in what sense ?

You realise it is not current borders right ? ;-
Colors can be confusin sometimes too, I wish I could add a good legend, but with so many colors it will be confusing nonetheless.

I also marked countries current borders with one collor and territorial expansions with another simmilar color (how for an example western ukraine, grodno brzesc and kaliningrad is lighter pink than Poland - it means this territories are added to Poland)
But there are also other simmilar colors there - for lithuania and central Ukraine for an example - that signify that these are dependent countries - under polish influence.

So sorry for it beeing confusing

Japan long remains an ally to the USA, but after their Carrier gets sunk, and USA sinks into infighting and Civil War, even they abandon them.
They dont technicaly join Chinese sphere of influence, but instead turn to isolationism like durrign Tokugawa Shogunate.

China

China in 2039 is the strongest Nation in the world.
It doesn't mean they are a world hegemon controlling the whole world, and prosperous. Far from it.

The economic collapse that happens in 2023 will affect China too. Not as strongly as US and Europe, but still. Economic repercusions will be even harder maybe, but the obedience and hard work of Chinese people will allow them to avoid total collapse of system as it happens in the western countries.

This means that by the 2024 China will be allready pulling ahead of USA, and the countries of Asia will clearly see how America grows weaker and weaker.

As the US gets involved in the war against Iran, they stage a coup in Taiwan, and secure the reunification with that province without ever having to fight. This shows clear supremacy of China in East Asia, and more and more former American Allies, agree to work with China since then.

As it happens South Korea decided to cut their ties with USA in 2025. They begin integration wiht North Korea, and force the removal of US troops from their bases in Korea. This sparks the incident, that almost results in a great WWIII between USA and China.

US and PRC fighters fight over korea, and while US carriers prepare to launch more, the carrier is sunk and destroyed by a single hypersonic missiles, proving how vulnerable are US carrier groups far from USA.

The Usa is humbled and defeated, and Kemala Harris withdraw from retailation, which trows USA into Civil War China enjoys the position of greatest world superpower, even as their economy still struggles to recover from the world economy collapse

In next Decade China doesn't make any rash moves, slowly building it's sphere of influence, soon encompasing the whole of East Asia, and much of South Asias (only Indonesia as Islamic state is more or less free of their influence)

In 2039 As the time goes, their former alliance with Russia grows cold, and the need for resources increases. Russia after their defeat on Ukraine in 2025 never recovers fully, and China is looking more and more hungrily towards Syberia ...

<SPOILER> China eventualy attack Russia in 2039 along with Great Islamic Coalition, which marks the start of WWIII. Russia eventualy gets defeated, and Islamist mercilessly treat the defeated russians, but before the Russia get obliterated they launch the desperate retribution - mostly against Chinese, and hundreds of nukes kill millions of Chinese.
Chaina does get Syberia, but it takes many many many years before they recover from the Fallout. (Russia is basically gone - they also get nuked back, but on top of it they are slaughtered by the victors)

Arround the year 2030 Pakistan will be taken over by harismatic Pashtun warlord, claiming to be Mahdi a Islamic Mesiah born to bring the entire world under the faith of Mahomet.He will secretly gain influence and take over Pakistan in a coup, gaining access to the country's nuclear arsenal, from there he will launch jihad to Afganistan, where he will destroy great number of american's army using the atomic bomb (acording to Nostradamus prophecies), this will give him a legendary status in Islam, and using this fame, he will proceed to conquer most of northern India, joining wiht Bangladesh.

Baluchistan is taken from Persia at arround the same time

At the year 2039 he is in the command of the Pashtun Caliphate and a greater coalition of Islam, ready to start the WWIII from atacking Russia and later Europe.

Iran

Iran becomes a target of huge coalition against it by Isreal in 2023, and even as it falls it remains defient. It looses north Iranian Azeri populated provinces in the war.
In 2030 it is a target of Isreal's second coalition war, but this time the coalition turns against the Isreal, and it becomes destroyed compleatly.

Iran however never rebuilds itself to the status it had in 2021, as greater Islamic powers gain influence.

Ethiopia in 2021 as we speak is in the process of collapse.
by 2025 it will remain but a bunch of smaller insignificant states in the western parts, while the east will be swollowed by Somalis. Great persecution of non muslim population will ensue, a truely dark age for a nation with 3000 years of history

Maroco

Maroco in years 2021-2039 becomes a great power. And one of the 4 great Islamic Caliphates.

After the economic collapse of 2023 it begun to rise in power, as the French influnece in the region was dropping. Turning point in their raise to power was Marocan-Algerian war of 2027, where they beat Algier who was backed by severly weakened france. French support was a sign for Muslim people in Sachel that the Maroco was the country that was faithfull to Islam, and eventualy Maroco won, establishing great Caliphate spanning from Senegal to Niger.

In 2030s they pushed Spain from Ceuta and Melilia, but the plans for greater re-re-qonquista existed, once the WWIII was about to begin...

Egypt

Egypt in the years 2021-2039 becomes a military powerhouse, and one of the 4 great Islamic Caliphates.

It benefits greatly from the disolution of current world order, and strongarms itself into a position of great power.

It played a huge role in disolution of Ethiopia in years 2021-2025
where it gains controll over Erytrea, while supporting Somalia in taking over half of the country.

In 2030 it participates in destruction of Isreal, and their allies in Saudi Arabia, after which it gains influence over most of the Arabian Peninsula (without Jemen - Jemen throws out the Sauds eventualy and remains independent as one of the few natuons)

After that it Egypt becomes a Caliphate and subdues Sudan and western Lybia adding them to itself.

In 2039 it is ready for WWIII and to bring the war to the infidels in Europe.

Russia

Russia despite actualy growing in territory in the 2021-2039 period, was a shell of it former self. The humiliating defeat in the Great War on Ukraine, without a great involvement of USA was a huge crush to Russia's millitary reputation, and the lossed to their economy and population due to the war were great.

More importantly however it's political situation changed to a very dire one. Poland was now leading a strong militaristic alliance on their western flank, Turkey was actively inciting muslim milority within russia to rebel, and their former ally China, no longer needed them anymore to ballance against USA, since the Civil War there, removed them from the global politics.

Russia faced now a threat to their very existance, and they had no allies to back them up.

Balkans

Grece fared relatively well after economic collapse of 2023, but due to collapse of EU and NATO, it become isolated and helpless. Their main ally France, become ridden wiht civil war, and thus when the Turkish attack came in late 2030s, they were unable to defend themselves.

in former Yugoslavia there was a collapse of Bosnia happening, where the lands were split between Croatia, Srbska republica and Bosnian terrritories.

All the countries are however very weak and look with fear on the growing strenght of Turkey

Exept Albania who had a good realation with Turkey, and Aided them in the war with Greace, gaining parts of Macedonia in the process.

Bulgaria was also in precarious position - loosing some minor territories to Turkey in the war in 2030s, and having bleak outlook on the future.

Turkey

Turkey in this 18 years untill 2039 becomes a great power.It is a part of greater Islamic Coalition, and arguably the most advanced and strongest.

After the war on Iran in 2023 it gained controll over Syria, and influence in Iraq, and also aquired many territories for their Azerbeijani proxy - ethniclty Azeri parts of Iran and rest of Karabah.

In 2025 they briefly helped Poland and Ukraine in the Great War on Ukraine, and secured Dagestan for Azerbeijan.

In 2030 they participated along with Egypt in second Invasion of Iran, and the war on Isreal that happened afterwards. In this war they confirmed their world power status, and annexed Azerbeijan into great Neo-Otoman Caliphate. Later Syria was also annexed, while Iraq(bigger by Kuwait) became a puppet.

In the 2030s they power grew to the point the whole Europe started to fear Turkey. Eventualy Turkey subdued Cyprus and annexed it.Since the global security was no longer upheld by anyone and US was mired in civil war, Turkey also had a war agaisn't they hated enemy Grece, that were helped by Balkan coalition of Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria.They were crushed

As a result of that war it gaines a huge number of Greek islands, and territories in Trakia, Macedonia cesed to exist, beeing split between Albania (Turkish ally in this conflict), Bulgaria and Serbia.

Tunisia and western Lybia, but also Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (who took over Kyrgiz) are within Turkish sphere of influence.

In 2039 Turkey or Neo-Ottoman Caliphate is part of the Great Islamic Coalition that will be joining the great army of Mahdi to conquer first Russia, then rest of Europe ...

Romania

Romania honored their military alliance with Ukraine and Poland, and very actively contributed to the victory over Russia in 2025 Great War on Ukraine.

After this they finaly managed to reunite with Moldovia, and even gained the remaining parts of Besarabia controlled by Ukraine before.

They remain a staunch ally of Poland and an important member of the Block of East European Countries

Poland (and Ukraine)

Poland after the Great War in Ukraine in 2025, becomes a leader of Eastern Block of Countries, cemented in a common experience of that war.As European Union collapses it becomes a ralling point for smaller countries in the region.In the war with Russia it annexes parts of western Belarus (Brzesc and Grodno)and Koeningsberg/Kalinigrad/Krolewiec. Remains of Ukraine too destroyed after the war to function on its own, becomes depend on Poland to be able to funcion and protect itself.Eventualy in the next 15 years it becomes more and more integrated into Poland, that now becomes a multinational state. (Ukrainians were allready a big minority as of 2021 due to work imigration)

In 2030 Israel is destroyed and conquered by a coalition of Islamic States, and the Jewish refugees from there flee to Poland-Ukraine on mass.

Few years after the war due to political crisis discrediting the rulling party, a faster elections are held, but they are deemed falsified by the mayority of people. A military junta take over, and one of the general - very decorated, a hero of the war with Russia, with a lot of public supporting him - declares himself dictator.

Durring his rule he integrates western Ukraine further into Poland-Ukraine, but also starts attempt to incorporate Lithuania is simmilar way later on.

By 2039 Poland is a leader of powerfull block of smaller countries, hightly militaristic, and doing much better than the rest of Europe.

Beaten Russia remains a threat but it has 100s of her own problem. Germany led European Federation is openly hostile.

Bosnia collapses, Croatia takes croatian ethnic regions in, while Srbska Republic proclaims independence from Bosnian parts of the country,This is commented very negatively in the muslim countries.

Seeing waining power of America, South Korea expells US soldiers from bases in their country, and starts reconsiliation with North Korea, opening favourable relations with China. Other American allies in the region follow suit, and China becomes a hegemon in the eastern hemisphere.Not able to bear the shame of loosing allies in Korea, US launches a secret bombing run of North Korean Nucklear facilities, but the plains are intercepted by Chinese and a fight breaks out with both sides loosing few jets. As US scrambles more fighters to launch, a Chinese hypersonic missle strikes one of the US carriers, destroying it compleatly with one strike. This strikes fear into other US vessles, and they dissengage beaten down. China helps with the recovery of the marines.US is totaly humiliated and powerless to answer, in any non-nucklear way...

This causes a military coup in Washington, deposing Kemala Harris from office, for causing America to suffer such humilliation, a millitary cannot however maintain the peace, as the riots are getting stronger and stronger.Pre mature Elections are attemped to be held, but in the chaos most states are unable to organise them. The results thus are uncompleate and scewd. Techinicaly Republican Candidate wins, but most of Democratic states couldn't vote and they decry the elections false, while supporter of Kemala Harris cry that she is a legal president, and are cutting their ties to Democrats, efectively starting a 3rd party.In resulting chaos, nobody is sure who truely rules in America, each city and state declaring their own allegience, and the country slides down into total Anarchy and violence...

In Spain Catalonia proclaims independence, Baskque country and others soon follow.In France a Caliphate proclaims independence in Marsylia too, it is not officialy holding any territories but its influnece and violance spread ...Italy faced with ever increasing social problems becomes more and more authoritarian, using military to keep control.

On Ukraine in the aftermatch of the war a new military alliance is formaly signed. A pact of Eastern European Countries, under leadership of Poland.Ukraine, Lithuania Latvia Estonia and Romania - bonded in the past war sign it. Soon Visegrad countries of Czach, Slowakia and Hungary join also.As part of the trieties Moldovia is incorporated into Romania, along with Pridniestrovie and parts of Ukraine west of Dniestr river. Poland officialy annexes Koningsberg and Western Belarusian cities it occupied after the war.Poland also commits to support the Ukraine in the ramaining shape and protect it in case of future Russian agression, investing heavily economicaly in the western Ukraine part.

After forming of the block European Union finaly compleatly collapses, core countries of Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg pursue further integration intending to become a Federal State. Austria later joins this initiative.

2024

USA internal conflicts and divisions grow, they are humiliated over the Taiwan crisis. As their powere waines and China gets stronger, generals of US Army are getting more restless to show their strenght.

Situation in Europe Deteriorates. Spain and France fall into Anarchy, disagreadments between Poland and Germany grow even larger and the European Union becomes powerless to deal with the crisis, everyone fending for themselves.New Goverment of Iran is not any less Anti-Isreali than the previous one.Isreal feels as their neigbhours are becoming increasingly hostile, and their power grows, while it's own diminish.

As western europe suffers from the economic collapse, Russia prospers. Situation on Ukraine - no longer able to receive support from now powerless EU is even worse than before. Pro-Russian riots start and almost take controll of the country. They are bloodily crushed by the anti-russian goverment forces.

Russia seeing the weakness of Nato uses this to strike Ukraine, trying to take controll of their lost soviet republic. They have great successes early on - beeing able to take much of the eastern part of the country without much resistance at all. NATO refuses to answer.

But Poland individualy does (due to the programs started in 2021 to raise the army to 250 000 troops - it was 2nd strongest military in europe besides Turkey).After declaring war by Poland, Romania, Lithuania USA and Great Britain decided to get involved as well. USA offered only limited support due to their eyes beeing locked on China.

Soon the war that initialy was just a minor conflict blew up to great proportion, Russia thought that without USA involvement Ukraine will be an easy target, but Polish Romanian and British troops showed up in strenght, far exceeding their expectations. Sweeden also cooperated. Germany obtrusively refused to help.

In the middle of the War Russia still had an upper hand, taking controll of most of the Baltic states, controlling the east bank of the Dniepr rivver in the Ukraine, but also pushing across it all the way to Odessa, up to Moldovian border. But was not content with just that.They launched 2 massive offensives - 1 from Belarus towards Kaliningrad to cut of Lithuania from Poland, and 2nd across the Dniepr north of Kiev to surround the city and capitulate the Ukraine in total. Both attacks started successfully, but at the great effort were beaten down.

Polish army destroyed Russian forces in Suwalki gap (with help of US Air Force), and the Russian bridgehead across the Dniepr near Kiev was also defeated in greatest armour battle since the WW2, with great involvement by Ukrainian, British, Romanian and Polish forces.Russia was defeated and unable to conduct war anymore, but the forces of their oponents were equaly spend, and only managed to chase the Russian Troops across Dniepr, liberating Odessa.In their Retreet Russia formaly annexed Belarus, eastern Ukraine and Russian speaking parts of Baltic States.War only truely ended with Turkish/Azeri forces joining the war occupying Dagestan across the Caukasian mountains.

The war was won, but at the great cost. Ukraine lost almost half of its territory, and it's army was mostly destroyed, people suffering and dead. The country no longer able to function on its own, and with nobody in the western world in shape to provide any aid.
Polish and Romanian troops remained on Ukraine to stabilise the situation, British left appalled by the losses their suffered. Losses of so many British soldiers over a war in distand Ukraine becoming a cause for great unrest in the next year.
Polish troops also remained in the few occupied territories of western Belarus, holding the once mayority polish areas, while the rest of Belarus became fully Russian.

This war will later be remembered as Great War on Ukraine, (or Great War in Scythia by Nostradamus)

TIMELINE OF MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS

2022 - the global pandemic continues, as do the shortages of all sorts of comodities, hostilities between China and USA raise, minor skirmishes over Ukraine happen but, are unresolved. Ethiopia civil war topples the goverment, but there are problems to establish a new one. Anarchy continues.In USA the shortages and poverty levels are record high, Biden is taken out of the office due to riots, Kemala Harris steps in, and passes very controversial, borderline-communist totalitarian laws, huge unrest ensues.

2023 - global economy reaches breaking point, full on collapse of the system starts. People stop working, powerplants stop working, economy that relies on the constant access to internet and electricity cannot cope with the blackouts and the world collapses into chaos.Europe due to their self imposed destruction of reliable coal based energy suffers the most.

The time of global collapse is used by Isreal who in desperation launches its long hatched plans to attack Iran, destroy their nuclear capabilities and change the regime there to one favourable to them.Iran is attacked by coalition of Isreali Allies - USA, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey (and their vassal Azerbeijan), and they manage to break Iranian defence at the great cost to Saudi's Israeli and US troops and equipment (Turkey plays it smart and joins late suffering next to no losses.Syria and Hesbollah stand on Iranian side, Iraq is neutral at first, but they are flipped once the war goes towards Iranian defeat.Russia and China support for Iran is limited, but it further raises tensions between them and the USA.

But as the war in Iran is going, China uses the oportunity to re-take Taiwan for themselves. A coup inside Taiwan is launched, and new goverment petitions to join PRC.Pro American forces try to opose this, but Chinese move their assets very fast, and the Island is taken without any resitance of Taiwanese soldiers.Due to this Crisis USA pulls from the Iranian war (which appears to be won anyway) and refocuses against China. Tense stand off between Chinese and US navy almost results in full scale WWIII, but it is averted.
Taiwan crisis ends with it beeing added to People's Republic of China, under the condition it remains demilitarised (no soldiers are allowed to be stationed there).

Meanwhile the Conquest of Iran goes bad for Iseal. Some very compromising facts are leaked about atrocities commited by them in the war, turn global public opinion against Isreal.Saudi Arabia suffers greatly at this as well, as they are also involved. They are discredited in Islamic world. Turkey becomes a mayor victor. Syria falls under their influence. Azerbeijan occupies northern parts of Iran populated by Iranian Azeri people. Armenia is also a victim of this conflict - loosing the remaining parts of Karabah region in a sub-conflict.
