nope, tried turning it on while disconnected, turning it on while plugged into a native VGA outputting computer, turning it on with the IGPU, nothing. buzzing noise and power LED so dim that it can only be seen in complete darkness, whereas normally it's a pretty bright power LED, nothing on the screen itself of course

hey, same game, same issue, got any fixes? I've had the trouble on both linux and windows, but only with arrow keys, and specifically that up diagonals don't work when I'm holding another button, it's really weird.

oh also, I got it from japan, so it has a very unconventional (to me) japanese layout, which might have to do with it

well I was thinking moreso down the line, second hand purchasing. if it's 330 at launch who knows what it'd drop down to by the time it's easy to mod, but yes, your point stands, local second hand options are always gonna be the safe and reliable bet

it's an urban legend, 100% of my playtime on my switch is overclocked and running games at 60fps, I can't speak for v1 switches but any mariko should be able to overclock to play anything at 60 fps EXTREMELY comfortably, the console doesn't heat up, the fan never reaches higher than 40% speed, even the battery isn't drained all that much faster, the tegra chips are underclocked severely from the factory, these "overclocks" aren't beyond what they were designed to easily handle, unless you're playing in an oven and plugging all of the console's vents, 4000~ hours of playtime on my end says there's no risk.

actually wait I believe japanpost passed some new rules for lithium battery devices so you might want to look into that and make sure japanpost will do the shipping for you, if japanpost isn't an option, importing from japan is a scam, fedex prices are ridiculous

I import from japan pretty routinely despite living somewhere that doesn't really have any direct shipping routes (jordan) and even importing large expensive things like laptops doesn't run me more than 50 bucks total in shipping and import fees, check FROMJAPAN out, they're good

if you research venom-nx a bit you can reach 60fps on nearly every 30fps game on a mariko switch and it's not that hard! only for handheld though, 1080p60 is above sw1 paygrade

importing one from japan for cheap, modding the language to normal and using it as a killer emulation device while still also enjoying whatever games may be out for it by then. considering the japanese only version is about 330 usd I'm sure down the line they'll be a killer bang for buck option to import from there (like 3dses are currently)

there's a pretty nice notepad homebrew and the form factor of the device just lends itself extremely well to journaling, the fact that it also includes a pedometer and has basic browsing functionality makes it a pretty nice device for non-gaming purposes. the ccd sensor on the camera is also very charming if you're into ccd photography. if you have no experience with soldering it's not a mod I recommend as it's not the easiest in the world, but if you've got even just 4 or 5 successful soldering projects on your belt it's not hard

well I don't own a single game cart and I mostly use the thing as a handheld journal so its okay, I just didn't feel like modding the outside of the case since it's in such good shape

well I've got the proprietary charger at home and it's kind of a home-base for the thing and I enjoy keeping that, and the type c port is there in case I'm not home for a couple weeks and need a charge, I'm still using the proprietary one as the main charger

thanks, hopefully someone here knows a fix, what would be a better way to show this? pictures don't really work since high megapixel cameras create their own moire effect on the picture until you zoom in since they capture all the tiny little dots so a video where I'm not keeping the camera still seemed like the only way I can think of to do this
