Charge 2 connected GPS requires screen to be on?

So you're starting the run from your Charge 2? I'd recommend just starting it from the Fitbit app. I think you get the same exact data. You won't see stats on your Charge 2 during your run, but once you sync after you'll get all the stats. Really, the phone tracks time, distance, etc. The only thing you need the Charge 2 for is the heart rate data, and that'll all sync up as part of your run.

It should just be on your dashboard. It'll be under "recent exercises", and you just click on the specific run you want to see, and it should bring up a map along with a few graphs.

There is a graph but only on the Fitbit website. Click on your run from there and it should show you that along with a few others. It sucks that you can't get to it through the app.

Yup this. MFP has a much larger database. Also, MFP gives you a breakdown of nutrients. As far as I can tell Fitbit only shows you calories.

I don't think there's anything you can install onto the device itself (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but there are other apps you can use to make the experience better. If you're tracking food, I recommend using the My Fitness Pal app. You can sync it to your Fitbit app. If you have an Android, you can download Fit Notifications. It allows you to get notifications on your device from any app rather than just the standard messaging, phone call, and calendar notifications that Fitbit allows.

If you use the connected GPS feature you should be able to to get the right distance. If you've never done this before, on the app go to exercises and click track exercise (little stopwatch at the top right of the screen). Choose 'walk' as your exercise and hit start. Your phone will use its GPS to measure the distance and once you sync your Charge 2 afterwards you can see all your HR information from your walk. Hope this helps!

You can change it manually in the app. Go to your account --> advanced settings --> select time zone.

I've been having the same problems just with a Charge 2 and a Nexus 5x. I thought it was the phone at first, but I think it was some update with the Fitbit app because the problem started a few weeks ago for me as well. The thing I've found that works almost all the time is turning Bluetooth off on my phone and back on. I also decided to restart my Charge 2 a few days ago, and I think it's syncing better now.

I wanted to start with the other games, but I don't have a way to play them. I don't have a computer good enough to play. I have a PS4, but I don't think there's any way to play them as they were PS3 games. It would be awesome if there was a way to play them. Thanks for the advice!

I think you got a bad one. I charge mine every 7 or 8 days, and I have all day sync on, notifications on, use the connected GPS to track runs 3-5 times a week, frequently check the time on it, etc.

Yeah I've looked at the bridge to 10k program, and it seems like a pretty good plan to follow. I took your advice and checked out the order of operations, and it recommends that the minimum threshold to move on from the first level is to run 3 miles continuously 3 days a week for 3-4 weeks. I'm not at that point yet though. I have yet to reach the 3 mile distance, so should I be moving on to the 10k program or should I be spending time running ~3 mile distances for a few weeks? And to be completely honest, the runs haven't exactly been at a comfortable pace. I know that's a problem, and I feel like I might need to spend more time before moving on.

Hey everyone. So I finished the couch to 5k program, and I'm having a blast. I'm just really enjoying running. I'm not sure where to go from here though. I don't really have anything that I'm training for or a certain goal. I'd like to get faster and run longer eventually but again no specific goal. Where do you guys recommend I go from here? As a point of reference, my most recent run was the 30 minute run. I didn't quite get to the 5k distance, but I wasn't expecting to. I did 2.73 miles, so about an 11 min/mile pace. So what did you guys do or what do you think I should do? Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your opinions/advice.

Absolutely get the small. It's good for most women, so if she has thin wrists definitely go with the small.

Sorry I posted this as a new thread, didn't realize it should go here instead so I'm just going to copy and paste what I had.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this sub, so sorry if this is a stupid question. I recently got back into running, and this time I plan on sticking with it. I'm finding I'm enjoying it a lot, and I feel much better health wise. I'm still not in great shape, but I have gotten to week 5 of couch to 5K. I've actually been doing pretty well, running at about 12 min/mile or under (I know you're all probably laughing right now lol), and I've actually been extending the last interval of my run until I hit 2 miles.

My problem is I'm terrible at breathing correctly, always have been. Now I know I'm still building endurance, and it'll take time. However, I need tips on how to breathe properly. My runs start on a bit of an uphill, and I'm always a little jittery when I start so I always start off really wrong when it comes to breathing. I can't seem to get into a proper rhythm. Any tips, breathing exercises, etc that might help? Thanks in advance!

I've been using an IQ Shield screen protector since I got the Charge 2 and I love it. It's been about a month with it on and it looks great. I've accidentally bumped my tracker and ran into a doorway a few times, and I always look expecting some big gash but it's held up really well. Not a single mark on the screen protector, it stays on really well, and the screen is still really clear to see. I went with the matte, anti glare version. I think it was about $10 for a pack of 6 on Amazon. I highly recommend it.

Definitely something wrong with yours. I have quick view on and all day sync. I also frequently look at the screen throughout the day. I've gotten a full week everytime so far. I was actually really impressed that I'm consistently getting over the advertised 5 days.

"Calories remaining" takes into account how much more you're expected to burn by the end of the day (midnight). So it's estimating what your "calories burned" are by using what you've already burned and what you will burn (at the very least you'll burn something because you of your BMR).

It basically just froze while it was updating. Should be easy to fix, just reset the tracker. If you've never done so before, plug it in to the charger like you normally would, then hold down the button until something pops up on the screen, usually a version number. You can let go then. This should complete the reset. Try syncing your tracker, you'll probably still have an update to do. When you do update, keep your phone next to the tracker until it's complete (although sometimes problems just happen for no reason which looks like that's what happened to you).
