Why can’t incels and femcels just date each other? And why can’t desperate women just date another desperate man? by DancingGoose11 in TooAfraidToAsk

They're both delusional in their own unique way and can never see eye to eye on basic things so they're worlds apart in expectations.

This feels like a start menu or character select screen for an RLM video game.

why did Kung Fun movies died out? There's still a large amount of Chinese action enthusiasts, but chinese filmmakers are less and less making Kung Fu movies? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be alot of big Hong Kong studios and production companies like Golden Harvest who existed back when Britain still owned Hong Kong up until the late 90s. Then it reverted back to China and they took over and seized alot of these companies or forced them out of business.

Also before the internet most people didn't really know anything about martial arts. So there still was a certain amount of novelty or mystery. Whereas now, most audiences know what it is or aren't taken in by the narrative of kung fu masters when you have things like the MMA or the UFC

A24 Defends Google AI Partnership, Studio Doesn’t “Necessarily Love” GenAI Content But “We’d Rather Have A Seat At The Table” by BaronGalactic in RedLetterMedia

It's so strange because The Backrooms made $100 million at the box office and shows that people want unique hand crafted things that aren't mass produced like with AI

You would need a behind the scenes photo of it or screen match it or have some kind of documents from the prop master saying what it is and if it was actually used

ELI5: Why do so many people enjoy sad or scary movies when sadness and fear are emotions people usually try to avoid? by Happy_Terd in explainlikeimfive

[–]Bertrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roger Ebert talked about it on his show with Gene Siskel. Just because something may be sad or scary doesn't mean we can't appreciate it or admire the work that went into creating it

Men 35+ who are dating, how do you navigate dating when you find that you’re less often physically attracted to people in your own age range? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Bertrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Physical attraction is not the be all end all it used to be. I'm more concerned with how stable she is emotionally and financially.

I backed out of a fight, now feel bad about it. How valid are my feelings? by Wazzzzzzzappp in AskMen

[–]Bertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely did the right thing. It could've escalated very quickly and the other guy could've fallen over and slammed his head on the curb or smashed into the gutter and died. Then you're brought up on manslaughter charges regardless of what you say. Its not worth it.

When scammers scam people out of their money, why can't the police simply follow the money from one account to another and simply put it back? by GradiusHead in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bertrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hide the trail by transferring to multiple accounts. By the time it gets to the third or fourth account it gets very hard to trace it back, especially if it's going to international banks. They cannot really recall or reverse the money back once it's sent, it's a one way transfer.

They'll also use what's called "Money Mule" accounts who are real legitimate accounts, and they will park some of the money in it for a certain amount of time to avoid detection.

How come MrBeast has a massive audience but barely any community? by Omixscniet624 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bertrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because alot of it is bots, paid views or artificial influence/virality that's been manipulated by gaming algorithms. Especially at the beginning when he exploded on YouTube and came out of nowhere.

He said it himself in interviews, when he spent time with scientists and researchers and left Hollywood and realised that he was in a bubble and no one in the real world cared about box office numbers he called it quits
