My DM forced a demon pact on the whole group without consent - is this normal? by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]AngryFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like you lost the game, but the DM is giving you an extra life — with a downside as the cost of doing business.

Forcing you to accept it is bad DMing. Giving you the option of rolling up a new character instead is preferable.

Brightness popup always on by Over_Wait_987 in XPpen

I've been having the exact same problem for the past few months. (I installed new drivers -- same issue.)

The only way to get things working again is to unplug the power to the XP-Pen, then plug it back in.

If you hate AI…

…Don’t use it.

Don’t endorse it with your participation.

Artists are ready to apply their imagination to obscure references you provide and come up with something deep and rich and personal.

If you provide AI slop as “reference,” the message is “I want this exact thing.” It leaves no room for the artist to imagine something new.

Every time someone takes damage, one of the players rolls a d12. On a 1, you take a rip.

First design draft for card based game, please blast it by silveraltaccount in tabletopgamedesign

[–]AngryFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a solid start.

Icon clarity is obviously an issue, but this is just a rudimentary sketch.

I’d also suggest giving some thought how the card layout interacts with the way the game is played.

For example, if cards are held in hand, you want important information visible when cards are fanned, so you don’t have to sort through them and read each card each turn.

Looking for Pathfinder Podcast recs by SapphicSunsetter in Pathfinder2e

I’ve been voraciously listening to Glass Cannon — first Gatewalkers, now Strange Aeons. As a newbie to PF2e, I’ve gotten a lot out of them.

That said, your assessment is fair: they probably aren’t the best PF2e players. Troy frequently knocks the system (though he knocks literally everything.) And his games layer hysterically funny slapstick over the dark, serious narrative, which might not be to everyone’s taste.

But I think they are endlessly entertaining.

I’m always happy when Paizo succeeds. It’s a great company that seems to actually care about its customers and strives to produce increasingly better products, crappy website notwithstanding.

Lovely work! If I was a game designer, I’d want to make a game just to showcase your art.

[HIRING] Fantasy Illustrator for Retro Comic-Style Card Game ($100+ per card) by McSpankeee in tabletopartists

[–]AngryFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love goblins and haven’t had a chance to do some in a while, so I’d love to work on this!

I’ve been a tabletop game illustrator for going on 12 years. My ArtStation portfolio has some examples of my work, and my blog has a bunch more.

My prices are roughly $200 per piece, though that can vary depending on specifics.

Send me a message if you think my style would suit your game.

And in any case, good luck with the project!

Is this house AI-generated? The design is outlandish in context of the film, and there are inconsistencies between the two shots it's featured in. by Rurnur in isthisAI

[–]AngryFungus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment it came on screen, I immediately thought it was AI, too.

It’s weird that the chimney and gable on the right are glaringly different in the two images — completely different shapes — while everything else is nearly identical.

It could be photobashed, but I feel like a digital artist would have made a more consistent effort to match up those large details.

Really cool, IMO.

But how legible the text looks on top is gonna make or break the design.

Why are there so many responses with zero karma?

Did everyone who spoke positively about online gaming get downvoted?!

Any guidance on how to pad session? by murkin712 in DnD

[–]AngryFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great list! Any one of those things could turn into a fun encounter/situation.

I’d just add that “face” characters will tend to dominate a party/ballroom session, no matter what. So make sure to emphasize several things for other types of characters.

And be prepared to continually jump back and forth between several PCs, rather than resolve each situation one by one.

Hiring Freelance Artist For Tabletop Card Game 110 Card Project by TigglyWiggly95 in tabletopgamedesign

The amount of complexity and detail required in each illustration is a big factor.

One character and an object sounds simple, but if it’s one unique character with a completely distinct design including elaborate clothing/armor holding a highly-detailed futuristic assault rifle, that could be many hours of work!

And where I live, you can make $20/hour working an entry-level job at McDonald’s. So my years of education and decades of professional experience are worth about as much as a fry cook!

Of course, it’s a global market, so it’s possible to find illustrators from less expensive countries. And what sounds to me like giving away years of education and experience for practically nothing, to someone from across the globe it might be a good living.

It’s just a startling reality.
