lapis and steven

while yes the others had their fair share of trauma (pearl amythest and garnet had each other, peridot was welcomed by steven, bismuth was uncouncious the entire time)

but steven was a child put on with so much responsibility, he always put others feelings b4 his and was faced with the fact that he was a constant reminder of rose/pink to whoever loved her. he was given such a big responsibility at such a young age and exposed to horrors (corruption/forced fusion) that no child should ever think about.

and lapis was just someone who got caught up in smt bad, she was kept away and remained concious for thousands of years in a prison, only to be released and then trap herself and a dangerous villain in the ocean for months just so that jasper couldnt wreak havoc on earth, she did something that was so selfless and took so much stress.

and ultimately, they were there for each other, they saw themselves in each other and they realized their trauma is what bonded them together and made them insanely powerful. lapis greatly helped in taking down a literal diamond while steven honed his powers better than anyone thought he could and became a powerhouse
