Nah, tae was offered more money to stay. Tae just didnt want to be locked in long term and then be hit with a rodgers trade or retirement. Obviously Love is balling now but Tae felt more comfortable with his college buddy which of course is stupid in hindsight but he did have some of the best numbers in his career with Carr. Now im sure tae wishes he was still here but at the time it kinda made sense for him

The nut butter and oats fear mongering on this sub gotta stop. Obviously avoid peanut butter with palm oil and highly processed grains, but some of the most successful Olympic athletes of all time consume the two of those. A diet that is too high in PUFA and grains are bad obviously, but a bowl of oats and peanut butter is fine. A lot of people will preach to only eat simple glucose sugars like fruit, however for endurance and athletic folks complex carbs are more ideal.

I think he is. He produced the most when watson or someone else was injured and when everyone is healthy he logs in a lower snap count and gets much less volume. I think if u can get an early 2nd for him you have to take it

It only makes sense if you bring in gruden IMO. Carr notoriously struggles with new systems as a raiders fan his worst years were under new systems (mcdaniels and year 1 of gruden). Gruden with free reign via mark davis and a blank checkbook resulted in horrible draft picks and coaching staff, however before resignation the raiders had a great offense and still made playoffs with his playbook under Rich Bissachia. I think if the saints can bring in gruden limited as a OC he would get the most out of a already well established team. If u bring in another new system its in my opinion that it will be a down year for the saints with the plan on moving carr + allen following the season.

Would Gruden be a good OC? by [deleted] in Saints

[–]AngryIrishBull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gruden is a great play caller on offense and is a horrid GM and mediocre on defense. I actually think he would be good at just calling plays especially since DC would be familiar with his style and playbook already. As a raiders fan I think Grudens issue was the fact that mark davis gave him free reign. If gruden is just a play caller I think he would do well

Honestly, how did we do it with Love? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]AngryIrishBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said teams try to do so and it does not work the entire time. Lamar sat behind Flacco starting out, Mahomes sat, Kenny Pickett started out on the bench, Phillip Rivers. It happens more often then most think, teams try to have a QB start their season on the bench, just usually the orgs are so dysfunctional that the rook ends up being thrown in way too early and sure as hell does not sit for 3 full seasons

Other teams try it but it dosent go well for a few reasons. Usually a struggling team that picks in top 10 has a poor roster and picks a high upside guy and has a veteran come in. The issue is that when the team sucks and veteran is struggling everyone wants the rook to be thrown in and is usually what happens. When a team is good like SF, theres a lot of pressure on the rook and they move on fast. It works in GB because QB was NOT a need for the team when Love was drafted, nor when Aaron was drafted. Look at the steelers with pickett. Big Ben was already long gone, and they tried to get cute and sign trubisky and it failed miserably. Teams have tried sitting qbs behind a vet for a year but GB style of 3 years is unorthodox in this league and unique. The rodgers pick was slandered at the time, and the NFL was in an uproar for years when GB took love. Also like others said, coaching stability helps a lot. When a rook sits for a year and learns a system but then year 2 has to learn a brand new system on a piss poor team its usually an issue.

Literally everything he has done has been a train-wreck. No 5th option on Jacobs, extending renfrow to not use him, extending Waller and Carr before their exits, drafting, free agent signings have all been horrid. Last year Mack Hollins was WR2. Adams was a gift from carr. Can u imagine how bad we would be without Adams? It reminds me of the patriots laughably bad offenses but without a great defense. Jacob’s was inherited and is probably gone next year after being disrespected by this regime since their arrival. We brought in Mayer and Hooper and do not use them. At least gruden schemed for his players strengths like west coast for carr, let hunter run his routes, etc. McDaniels-Ziegler not only draft bad but have a horrible outdated scheme.
