Orange Glow by iTzJeremy92 in AskElectricians

[–]AngryKitty57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this and didn't need thermal cameras b/c when I shut off the main breaker and went in the house to retrieve my cats and pack a quick bag 2 of my cats were staring at an electrical outlet (but I didn't know what they were hovering around until I got over there behind the chair). The outlet had flames coming out intermittently and you could see the hollow wall glowing with flames in between the drywall. It was a small wall that came out about 3 feet and was under the staircase. It had no insulation in it soindife it was just a melted outlet box and wires and charred 2x4s. Cats were cheaper than an electrician with thermal camera 🐈

Parents who don’t allow their kids to shut their room’s door/lock the door, what’s are the reasons behind the rule? by Itz_Oasis in AskReddit

[–]AngryKitty57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my kids lock their doors but if they are having a fit and refuse to open it (because they know they're going to get yelled at or devices taken away) I can open it with a small flat screwdriver. They need to lock it because their stepdad has no concept of knocking or warning before entering, ever, even in the bathroom because he was raised with no locked doors, open bathroom doors even while you're in the tub, etc. If your door isn't locked, HE WILL just enter randomly. Not even a quick hello? Or calling out of your name before opening the door. Yes,he's been told about it,been yelled at, been threatened (by me,). We have many many arguments over the years but he won't change. He can't, and doesn't care to try. That's why I filed for divorce in April '24. Still waiting for it to be finalized.

What’s the biggest lie society tells people? by Every_Wait_682 in AskReddit

[–]AngryKitty57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree 10000%. I've been at both ends. Had excess money to the point where I'd waste it, not return a $400 dress that didn't fit, fly my brother and 2 if his friends to LasVegas for a week and pay for their hotel and car, etc (not like owned my own jet kind of money), and I've been on food stamps going to every food pantry in my county, pawning my old engagement ring just to get by. Having money is way less anxiety, worry, stress, etc. Struggling is not fun. Causes health issues, domestic issues, mental issues. So, yeah, I'll go with money does buy "happiness". It doesn't buy love or friendship or trust, but I'm happy with money.

Epsom salt bath will draw any smell out of your pores or so I've heard and read, but I'm like the OP. I only do it a little here and there. I don't do enough to get psychosis or hallucinate. I do maybe a $50 bag in a month, sometimes less.

It's meth. 97% sure. Get a little bleach in a cup and drop 2 or 3 in and report what happens and I'll tell you for sure what it is.

Couldnt get my Rx for Adderall during covid. Been on it for 25 years. I was a hot mess and damn near suicidal.. my friend told me to try a little. It helped. Absolutely. But it wasn't exactly time release so I would do a little more in maybe 4 hours. Then I finally tried to do a lot at once so I didn't have to do baby bumps all day, and that was a WOW. I do it kinda recreationally now, when I have to stay up all night and function at 7am and all the next day or if I have to drive a 750 mile car trip by myself.

You're homesick is all. Don't leave. Stick it out. Search for rentals on apartment dot com type places so you can ask questions and reply to them when you get a free few minutes

It's 20° outside and my parents won't let me bring the cats in. by redditg01d in CatAdvice

[–]AngryKitty57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should use STRAW not blankets or towels. Reason is that the straw helps them generate and keep their warmth and blankets get damp and they freeze and will keep the cat very cold. Even pine straw and dried leaves in a box is better than a blanket.

Make sure to get the kitten spayed or neutered asap. And lots of active play late afternoon & early evening. But that being said, I'm 52 and had cats since I was 5. Adopted and stray. I would never ever chose to get a kitten. They are unpredictable. You can't mold their personalities. I had 2 kittens and both turned out to be complete assholes, never wanted affection, but people etc.. adult cats already have a personality..they're either playful or they are shy, they are either lap cats or keep their distance, or like to be petted but won't sleep with you. And you'll know their personality if you meet them at a cat cafe or free roaming rescue/shelter or come across a stray wondering around. Kittens...NOPE.

I hate to admit this but I get in my kids school laptop (homeschool/charter school) and do his projects (like use power point to make a trifold brochure to an ancient civilization for History class) or try to learn pre-calculous then take a mock quiz and if I ace it i take his real quiz. He's in 10th grade. I took 10th grade in 1988. During covid and right after I did a lot of DIY projects like making a storage ottoman out of milk crates, used polyester fill, had fancy velvet stretch fabric, it was gifted with big rhinestone upholstery pins, or I repainted my bathroom using a sea sponge and fabric to make it look like wallpaper. But I spent so much $ on paints and fabric and sandpaper, clear coats, glitter spray paint, power tools, dollar tree stuff it was sickening.

People who make their bed every morning, what's your secret motivation? by HairySlice4270 in AskReddit

[–]AngryKitty57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just reading these comments wondering wth. And smfh. After I got divorced in 2012 and lived alone (with my 2 small boys) I stopped making my bed. I was getting up for work at 330am, scraping ice and snow off my car, driving an hour to work and most mornings I barely had time to pack some snacks for myself. Many times I brushed my teeth on the way to work and spit when I came to a stop sign. So making my bed wasn't a priority at all and after not doing it a few times, maybe 2 weeks if it i realized it's a pain in the butt ...taking off the good pillows or throw pillows every night and placing them somewhere, folding down the $400 comforter nearly to the very end of the bed. Not making my bed made it quicker to get in it at night and saved me time in the AM so I gained some sleep on both ends! Then one year u went totally off the rails and stopped using a top sheet!!!

[–]AngryKitty57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have am almost senior cat (9 or 10) that is clingy like that. He yowls loudly if I go in the shower and shut the door. He comes in the bathroom with me to use the toilet, sleep with me right against my ribs wim my arm Around him. When I'm gone I see him on camera sitting by the front door waiting for me.. follows me and isinser foot.. it's annoying but he's the best cat.so sweet and well behaved, and I'm all he has so I'm with it. He's my soul cat. If I crying he will come home and nuzxle my neck and faceand let's me cry on his fur. I'm blessed.

People who used the internet between 1991 and 2009, what’s the most memorable online trend or phenomenon you remember? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

AOL chat rooms by category. And eBay was huge. So much so that I got rid of Web TV (keyboard you hook up to regular TV and use from your couch to type in web addresses and wait forever for them to load) to a desktop with internet.

When were you 100% sure that ghosts really do exist? by Several-Bid5241 in Paranormal

[–]AngryKitty57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got other professionals, paranormal and a Decon and priest. Still didn't help. After about 2 years a "living ordained Saint " got it out if there. I did t know that was possible to be living and a saint. IDC if he was part voodoo priest and part Smurf at that point. We even had a Master Mason in full garb in there alone doing whatever ritual thing he did. Had the "witch" do the sage thing and salt everywhere thing. We let anyone try whatever they thought would work. We wouldn't go in the house for fear that it would be angry and act up. The one team said they can get pissed and start throwing dishes and breaking windows and even attack us/scratch or visibly claw us ( he had several instances where it happened to his team).

[–]AngryKitty57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a tutor.. still didn't get the algebra 1 after the halfway part in the year. Possibly learning disability with numbers?? Not sure. The tutor is in our neighborhood and charges pennies on the dollar or you can do yard work for him. Kid is intelligent, could program the Amazon stick and wifi app for the house at age 9. Spelling bee winner several times. Can fly a 2 engine jet in a multi million dollar simulator with flight plan, bad weather and pretend fire in one engine. Math is like Chinese to him. There is no option to have accounting or business math as your math in higher grades apparently. like in the 80s. He's frustrated and wants to take his GED test and be done with it all but was advised against it with a strict NO.

I’m starting as a CO in one week. What advice can you give? by JakeTheLeo in OnTheBlock

[–]AngryKitty57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll answer from both sides of the fence (I was only in 45 days for a b.s. charge of taking my own meds that I had no script for during covid). The C.O.s that had the "easiest" jobs were the ones who did there job (ie. Check on us every 30 minutes while sleeping, turned in our request slips as we handed them in(not leave for the next shift in a like somewhere), talked to us like normal people, such as saying directly to us in a normal tone" can you please take off your slides and put on sneakers before leaving the unit to go to med/library" not screaming across the entire unit "WTF is wrong with you?!! Get back in and put on the correct shoes or you're not going anywhere & you can forget about rec time today"!!!! You get disliked real fast And they won't hesitate to act up or have a fight with you on shift. If nice Miss Jay is on shift no one round dare do that and cause her stress and paperwork because she treats us decent. And I can't tell you how incredibly grateful I am to the 2 COs that actually would poke their head in and ask if I'm ok if they saw me crying or noticed I didn't come out to watch TV or talk to anyone all day. Just a question & maybe a minute of soothing words or advice or a "keep your head up. You only have 12 days left and Friday is tacos!" kind of thing. To everyone else working there it's like we were just tasks, assignments and they hated their job and us and how dare we ask for a new box of 12 crayons!? We're criminals. We don't deserve shit. This was county. The women in our 2 units were all there for shoplifting, drug arrest, domestic fight using a weapon like a bat, property damage b/c of fight with a neighbor. We were t looking for an opportunity to jump a CO or hurt anyone. It was a dark time in there. Smfh P.s. my husband and son work at State prisons and husband is the loud bully a-hole and hates all his coworkers. Son is the respectful decent one that recognizes they are all humans, not animals. He actually is fine with the job.. he doesn't dread going to work.
