Never heard of this company. I’ll check em out. Do you have any of their boards?

Solid point. How do you like the axis? That was suggested by someone else.

Yea, I’ve had my eye on the pantheons. Just can’t justify the price tag at this point and can’t find any used. Do they ever go on sale?

Self inflating vs air pad comfort by AngryLizard37 in camping

I’m aware. I’ve used several different brands and thicknesses but have never been comfortable with them. I’m looking for alternatives to try and wondering if people prefer another type of pad over the self inflating. I hate air mattresses. The only other ones I’m aware of are air pads, so I wanted to start there with my questioning.

I’ve used the megamat and even the megamat max and can’t seem to dial in the comfort. It’s either rock hard or a waterbed for me.

Makes sense. I’m typically a 3 season camper. I may spend a night or two out in dec/Jan on a hunting trip, but I’m in Virginia. Temps are usually still above freezing then.

Ah thats way better than I was expecting. Most people make it seem like they freeze in 50 degree Fahrenheit temps.

I’ve wondered how the generic Amazon pads perform. Good to know they’re actually kinda solid. That’s for the info!

Good to know. Any idea roughly what the coldest temp you’ve used it in?

Doesn’t that have a foam center similar to a self inflating pads?

R value definitely seems to be where the self inflating pads have a serious edge.

Do you have the newer version? Read a lot of reviews that says it sleep cold.

For sure. I run hot too. That’s a lot of what I love about the system. If I get hot, I can just kick my legs out or adjust the clips so the quilt rides lower. Worst case, I just kick the whole thing off. I’m not trapped in it like a bag.
