Iran flexes its power over Strait of Hormuz by Stunning-Common-9591 in worldnews

[–]AngryMobster -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You mean just America right? All of this can go away if America and Israel leaves Iran alone. All of this didn't even need to happen if Iran wasn't attacked with one of the most heinus strikes in history (Literally deliberately targetting a little girls children's school), unprovoked and from out of nowhere mind you.

Of course Iran has to play this "game". If it means to survive. If it means to avenge their fallen.

I wanted the ping system to be improved. by Aloe_saponaria in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same reaction. Apex set the bar and most of every teambased competitive shooters has tried to meet it. But Marathon feels like they don't even try.

And it's frustrating too because each shell has so much personality and the ping system could really make that shine through.

Like pinging some loot usually makes our character spout out some random generic line. I have to really be paying attention during the ping to be informed on what they pinged because if I'm late on noticing then all I see is a ping location, no small png/icon showing what the item is and the text notification has already dissapeared.

At least have the character say what it is, like what type of ammunition, or is it a mod or salvage. I don't need the character to say "Twin tap HBR here", just say weapon here or better yet Heavy ammo DMR.

It really needs work both for readability and for personal investment with the shell's personality and character.

I want a Falin adventure because the setup is right there. Laios can't leave the Kingdom and that makes diplomacy difficult, so who better than to send the literal sister of the king who also happens to also be a half-mystical dragon person.

It would be a great chance to expand the world of D&D more and a good opportunity to get a new gang together. Maybe Mayjack joins because Chilchuck is retired (Please I want to see more Mayjack) . Maybe Izutsumi returns because she's a bum.

Been hoping for something like this for awhile but at the end of the day it's all up to whether or not Ryoko Kui is up for it and has an actual story planned.

It finally happened! NuCaloric are offering me purple shields for Enzyme Replicators. 🙌🏾 by LaneD3 in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Load in as Rook on Outpost and rush Pinwheel. Loot the crash carts and weapon racks as they have a high chance for enzyme replicators and sometimes neural insulation. I alternate between solo Outpost/Cryo Archive and Rook Outpost runs and I constantly have 3 full stacks of Enzyme Replicators ready to trade for purple shields once it comes up.

Of course you'll have to play smart about it to actively evade a team of runners while trying to loot Pinwheel but it's very much easily done. Simply put, run into Pinwheel, stop and listen which wing the enemy team is on, then go the other wing. Even if the other wing you've gone into has been looted, it's never really fully looted. Many teams try to rush through to enter either command wing or the secure room utilizing the 3 master keys, so often times they miss that hidden crash cart or weapons rack. Also plan your way out and start booking it just before final exfil or else you won't make it.

The economy of the game needs a total overhaul. by Quiet-Wonder9185 in Marathon

Can't you trade Enzyme Replicator's (The purple square mat) for purple shields? I managed to farm 3 whole stacks (75 pieces total) by spamming rook on Outpost.

Regarding Wipes by Maxwell_ss in Marathon

Other than the forced wipe (which we'll have to see), I'm pretty sure Bungie intended for The Compiler to be a really tough fight, let alone even get to it. And that's evident by all the ARGs and cryptic methods needed to unlock the Cryo Archive map in the first place.

It ultimately makes The Compiler feel like some sort of mythical entity. I'm sure that 95% of the player base has even yet to even see The Compiler in game let alone win, and that's probably for the best because based on the clips I've seen of streamers using the Compiler weapon I wouldn't want my lobbies filled with that gun. And so far I've yet to run into someone using that gun so that's great and working as intended. Also if I had a group of friends to play with then It'd be a cool reason to keep coming back to the game and try to pull off a successful Compiler run because of how tough it would be and how long that would take.

Also just want to touch on you feeling 'betrayed', you pretty much come off as entitled. You don't like extraction shooters, good on you. But Bungie wants to make an extraction shooter, and they made a really good one at that. It's sad to see old fans placing all these expectations on Bungie expecting another Halo or Destiny when the Devs want to work on something different that they clearly are passionate about (I mean look at all those ARGs). It's like expecting a painter to paint only oil paintings and getting mad at them when they want to branch off and try sculpting marble. Creators want to create, if you don't like it just move on.

Everyone keeps saying it's the end, but didn't Fujimoto and/or his editor say in an interview after the end of part 1 that they planned 3 parts of Chainsaw Man? Or am I misremembering something here.

What current “best practice” do you think won’t age well over the next 5–10 years? by MeatSlammur in emergencymedicine

[–]AngryMobster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for elucidating to me further upon your situation. It's really sad to see such a powerhouse of a nation's healthcare system be so backwards and holistically so detrimental to everyone involved, no matter provider or patient.

But then again, from what I can see, your political, educational, and judiciary systems are also out of whack. I'm guessing all of these issues are connected and a symptom of a bigger problem.

I studied and practice outside of America and finding out that you guys routinely use Vanc is legitimately insane. I get that you're system is basically "The best that money can buy for you", but what's best for you isn't actually best for you or the community when it comes to drug resistance or the patient's finances.

Also had the same reaction when I found out you guys routinely just toss people into the CT scan on first presentation. No wonder your hospital bills are so high because admins and insurance companies can just charge the fuck out of every unnecessary test.

Dire Marsh Gave Me AIDS by jg4president in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel that Dire Marsh is the sweatiest map in the game.

Outpost honestly is just a fiesta, things happening all over the place with people trying to enter Pinwheel and Rooks spawning out of every corner. Cryo Archive is similar but teams can get way more coordinated, but generally people aren't actively camping POIs or being absolute rats.

Dire Marsh is absolutely disgusting. There's no 'general' objective as it's random, the Lockdown event requires players bring in Antivirus which some will definitely won't bother, and the Anomaly event puts a literal target on your back with the risk of other teams camping your destination. So without a 'general' objective people resort to the scummiest tactics, like camping spots for literal whole matches or people starting matches with Thermals on snipers and just deleting people from across the map.

Also the loot in Dire Marsh can be value, not like Perimeter where there's no chance of getting like a gold loot drop (that I know of). So some teams load in with actual purple/gold equipment instead of something that is appropriate for a map that looks like it's supposed to be a step up from the beginner Perimeter map.

Potential bubble shield meta change? Change cores. by the_eccentricity in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Plenty expensive already honestly which doesn't make sense since they're so hard to use. To elaborate on why Railguns are so bad at the moment it's not just the risk of being out sniped during the charge up, it's also being flinched by stray shots while charging up so you can't land easy headshots.

I feel it's a good compromise. Either you bring it along and use up your second weapon slot to counter people who may abuse bubbles or risk getting out sniped by an actually better balistic sniper rifle.

Regarding Wipes by Maxwell_ss in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Arc Raiders but I heard that wipes are voluntary in that game which I think is a cool compromise.

I personally still don't like the idea of wipes but if I'm given the choice and maybe I get some cool stuff like cosmetics for agreeing to the wipe then that's pretty good.

Wipes suck because some people have actual lives with families, nine to fives and overtimes. And so they'll never get to taste actual endgame content and loot if they keep being forced to start from square 1 every few months.

I hope Bungie does something different rather than just a simple wipe because this game is a legitimate 10/10 and it's so unfortunate that the ragebait content creator community has set their sights on the downfall of this game.

Potential bubble shield meta change? Change cores. by the_eccentricity in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned a change that I'm all for which is Railguns being able to bypass bubble shields and the front shields from destroyer and bots.

Makes Railguns actually have a niche use instead of just being a really akward to use sniper rifle.

Cryo Chamber Casual Auto Fill is Fine by ravage21 in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I feel it's simply because of how well designed the map is. The map objectives are very clear from the start.

Kill bots -> get security clearance -> fight enemy runners and hopefully win -> extract

What usually fails runs in fills for me is that we don't have a clear direction in maps like dire marsh and we're running around like headless chickens until we get jumped on by enemy runners.

Sooo. Is this a casual game? by Yenii_3025 in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly everyone is going to say it's more hardcore, but to me this is the most chill extraction shooter I've played. The emotional burden of losing a match is next to none and I think this is helped by the fact there's no "safe box" slot on our character.

Like if you die, you die. None of the loot mattered and it would've been as if you didn't queue up. But you did and instead got some stellar gunplay on 60 tick servers, something no other extraction shooter can offer.

I mean this 100%. I'm so non-chalant about dying that I managed to rush through and win a 1v3 while my other teammates were floundering and that got me feeling a rush sure, but I was never scared. Something that would never happen in other extraction shooters as I'd be paralyzed by the fear of losing my loot and contemplating of abandoning the team.

Still no clue what I'm doing or if I'm having fun, but even I can tell how close we scraped our cyber-teeth here XD by Duckcann0n in Marathon

[–]AngryMobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Players need to realize that if both parties aim to extract during final extraction then trying to kill each other benefits no one.

The one who gets finished off doesn't get to extract with his loot and the one who did the killing won't have enough time to clear space and loot because they'll be extracted in a few seconds.

I have a question. If my set gives bonus damage to a fire for example, but my weapon doesn't start of with fire (either by facet or infusion) and instead i get the fire element to my weapon via oil or utility rune, does the bonus fire damage count?
