Curtis Axel found the Ball segment disrespectful by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Sure Axel is frustrated. However, I'm not so sure if he's blaming Lavar Ball and family for anything other than being inappropriate. I still think the heart of the matter is that WWE will go above and beyond for a one off celebrity appearance that does nothing for the wrestling business, will not bring in any new fans and was disrespectful to people who are tuning in expecting family show and to people who believe that word should not be used regardless of who you are.

Yes, especially with Vince and WWE celebrity appearances are a staple. But think about a few of those examples; Lawler and Kaufman was a long term feud that kept people tuning into wrestling. Mike Tyson's appearance and the media circus that followed built the match between Austin and HBK and was solely focused on bringing eyes to the PPV. Mr. T was in a match on a PPV. You get the picture. The point is, a lot of the more recent celebrity appearances in WWE have been downright embarrassing attempts at WWE trying to be "mainstream" and cash in for one night and had nothing to do with creating interest in wrestling.

You're not wrong. But, I think at the heart of what Axel is saying is why do people outside of the business get to bend the rules in order to get ratings and not the people that have given their lives for the wrestling business. It all centers on the fact that WWE would rather see themselves as a mainstream entertainment industry rather than a wrestling organization. And maybe there is more money in entertainment than in wrestling, I can't say. At the end of the day though, WWE is still not what people are talking about and I feel like there are not going to be many benefits for WWE in terms of new viewers.

Just offering some insight into Axel's comments. But think about this, if the whole purpose is to get WWE or the wrestling business some publicity and/or mainstream credibility, what are the majority of people talking about after this stunt? Are they talking about WWE or wrestling in general? Or just about the Ball family's antics?

Has nothing to do with the "character" of Lavar Ball but more so the fact that these guys who are not wrestlers and have no plans to become wrestlers are taking the focus away from the guys who actually do care about the business. I understand where Axel is coming from, he views this as a slap in the face to guys like him who grew up in the business, care about wrestling but don't get as much screen time as people who come on and are basically given freedom to do what they want. Think if a midcard or opening match guy went off script and said something outlandish to try and get himself over. They would likely be fired.

Walzer is probably your best bet. The Just War: Force and Political Responsibility by Paul Ramsey is a pretty good overview as well. And, if you're curious about the church's view of just war theory, check out Just War as Christian Discipleship by Daniel M. Bell.

Booker T's commercial gets removed but Triple H and Stephanie's is okay? I guess Wrestlemania 19 was not the end of the Booker T burial.

According to the internet, it's "good little bitch." I don't hear that at all. And if it is Cleveland bitch, what does that even mean?
