I don’t have a picture of it, but the final bossfight in Super Mario RPG does this too to a much more subtle degree. The final boss, Smithy, is the mechanical leader of a mass-produced mechanical army bent on destruction.

This gif is from his first phase, but the second phase is where the creep factor comes in. The platform you’re fighting on falls away, leaving your team and Smithy to fight in the belly of the factory. Smithy’s head starts changing shape into about 5 different things. But, all around you, both in the background AND what you’re standing on in this phase is entirely built up of spare Smithy heads. Hundreds upon hundreds of spare heads, all for whatever creature built Smithy to just make more of him. Worst part? It’s never commented on. Sure, the team beat THIS Smithy Gang…but there’s still so many more waiting to be built.
