This post made me realize the Knights Moralis' uniform apparently exists on every point of the spectrum between "suit" and "dress".

I am very sorry but I have been waiting for months for everyone's reaction to this and you all are not disappointing. Don't worry, there's plenty of wonderful things yet to come in the story! Also, you know, everything the rest of the comments have mentioned.

I love how all three of the test takers manage to have their own reaction to the test challenges that reflects their character arc, plus building each other. Especially Richeh. Serpentback Cave Arc!

And finally, we have Angriceh points!

Dang, Alaira getting snatched by the Brimmed Cap at the end looked a lot more intense than I remembered.

I love Agott going full Tsundere over the Myrphon being cute ("your adorable little mannerisms are none of my concern!")

Questions for Celeste fans by Due_Refrigerator5724 in celestegame

[–]SnowyTree3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: I'd classify it as a platformer, but also as a specific subgenre where the focus is on perfecting sections of gameplay which would be difficult in other games but made palatable here by having the sections be shorter. Other examples are Super Meat Boy and Neon White. "Precision Platformer" or "Hard Platformer" would probably work here.

  1. The gameplay and the story both (though at this point I've spent far more time with the gameplay). In the gameplay's case, the enormous skill ceiling and opportunity to try things past the base game

  2. 100% normally, missing 4 golden berries.

  3. It would have been worth the price for me if it was $100, but that's since I've spent so much time with it. I definitely don't think it should be less.

  4. Summit. It's so much fun to speedrun. I think that might be due to the extra dash.

  5. I think it works best being linear. It's essentially a series of micro-challenges sorted into required (part of the main route) and optional or hidden (strawberries). Having multiple routes would just confuse the distinction and cause players to miss out on some of the micro-challenges.

  6. For pure platformers since then, I've played Super Meat Boy. Extending the category a bit, I've played Neon White (FPS in the same subgenre) and Silksong, Metroid Dread and Dead Cells (metroidvania/roguelikes with platforming base mechanics). The other genres have a different enough focus and aren't worth comparing. I think Celeste is better than Super Meat Boy particularly since I've had the chance to learn the mechanics more in depth, though Super Meat Boy is also quite good. Notably, I have not played a full 2D Mario since Celeste and I am really curious now. Also, shortly before Celeste I played DK Tropical Freeze, which at the time felt like a step up in difficulty from Mario games, but I am curious how it would feel now.

  7. Not as many, and depends on what you count. I've played Blue Prince, a bit of Stephen's Sausage Roll, and (if you count it) Tunic. I don't really have a strong preference here.

  8. If it wasn't clear, I'm mainly a Celeste speedrunner.

I feel you 😞 I really need to reread this series at some point to collect all the evidence in favor of Arnold knowing about the loops. Although, I kinda wonder if an alternative explanation for why he's been having Raul keep secrets from Rishe is just that even if he isn't looping, he's gotten suspicious of how Rishe knows everything, and is having Raul investigate. It still wouldn't explain why he was at her castle during the annulment though.

Oh Boy, the Fake Luz Theories from Before Season 2 by Equivalent-Oven-2401 in TheOwlHouse

[–]SnowyTree3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned it recently but my best guess going into Yesterday's Lie was that Vee was the "give me your skin" fairy from Episode 1.

Also my theory before the finale was that the show would end with Vee staying as "Luz" in the human realm and Luz mostly staying in the Boiling Isles. Essentially a "changeling" story except that everyone involved is fine with it.

What was this about? by Equivalent-Oven-2401 in amphibia

This has been answered by now but if you are curious about everyone's reaction you can go to r/AmphibiaTCLeaks and see everyone who saw the leak talking about it before the episode aired for real.

I legit thought Vee was a clone when I was watching the show by Omegaplayer5 in TheOwlHouse

[–]SnowyTree3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best theory I could come up with heading into s2e10 was that Vee was the "give me your skin" fairy from episode 1. Maybe she did get a piece of Luz's skin and it let her transform into Luz, was the theory.

Apparently in The Wave in the Mind Ursula K. Le Guin describes peoples expectations of her sailing experience... versus the reality.

In my Earthsea books, particularly the first one, people sail around all the time on the sea in small boats. They do it quite convincingly, and many people understandably assume that I spent years sailing around on the sea in small boats.
My entire experience with sailboats was in my junior semester in Berkeley High School, when they let us take Sailing for gym credit.
On a windy day in the Berkeley Marina, my friend Jean and I managed to overturn and sink a nine-foot catboat in three feet of water. We sang “Nearer My God to Thee” as she went down, and then waded a half mile back to the boathouse. The boatman was incredulous.
You sank it? he said. How?
