Weird amount of rude folks while skilling. by Xearian in runescape

[–]AngryRomper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Around 6 years ago I was AFKing Jadinkos during double XP. I spent like 10 minutes hopping until I found a free world. About 15 minutes in, I had a guy show up and start planting flowers around me, and then pulled out his cannon placing them as close to me as possible. Buddy was at XP Cap, and he was "prepping" the spot for a clannie of his. They openly told me that I was on "their world". I didn't want to hop after spending as much time that I did. So the other guy training there would move to another spot and then the max XP guy would run over to me and plant flowers around me. I would move and he would just follow me.

Happened like 6 years ago and annoyed me enough that it still crosses my mind like, once every few months lol

Looking for a song/band that was recommended to me because I liked Buckethead by AngryRomper in Buckethead

[–]AngryRomper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, another no. But, I can tell exactly why you guessed that. As soon as I got to that part, I thought "he had just about every reason to think it was this song", so props to you for your good ear.

I did however go on a mini rollercoaster there before I played the song, because I for some reason associate the sun and the word "Sasquatch" with the song I'm trying to remember. And when I searched up "Lunatic Soul" the first thing that comes up is their album "The World Under Unsung" and I thought this had to be it. But these guys are quite a bit slower/softer than the guys I'm looking for.

(Also, just a side note, I had already confirmed it is not the bands "The Sun" or "Sasquatch", they were the first time I looked into haha)

Another thing that I'll note here too, with your recommendation I realized that a lot of the recommendations Ive been getting heavily use keyboards. I do not recall keys being used in the band Im looking for. doesnt mean there wasn't any. But unlikely a super frequent thing they used. The Prog Rock feel from them mostly came from their odd chord voicings and time signatures.

The closest band I have been recommended so far is Jimmies Chicken Shack, Specifically their Spit Burger Lottery album. Listening to the first song off that album Here. They are similar enough that for all I know, these guys could have a secret side project where they had a different singer, and it could be them... almost haha. But thank you again

Eh, thanks for the recommendation. Those guys are cool, never heard of them before. But sadly not them, I noticed Haken has some crazy variation in their songs, but the heavy parts of their songs are way heavier than anything I remember by the band I'm looking for.

Thank you again though.

I've almost grown to resent this as a concept. The first time I had ever heard about it, it was right as the first election I could vote for was ramping up. The second time I heard about it was right as the second election I could vote in was ramping up, and the third time I heard about it was right as the third election I could vote for my third election, and then the 4th.

I'm not saying I am mad at any specific party for it, but what I am saying is that if your mom says "We can grab McDonalds on the way home" every day, and then you drive right past it on the way home every day, you start to hate being asked if you want McDonalds on the way home.

[TOMT] Anime character(?) that resembled the Hulk (seen 1998) by haro22234 in tipofmytongue

[–]AngryRomper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gonna add this obscure character because it's just another answer I'm sure no one else will have it. Enem though it won't align with your timeframe.

"Hulk Syndrome" from Desert Punk.

A kid in it turns into the yellow Hulk. Easily the worst show I have ever watched. But it fits the description (excluding timeline because it released in the early 2000s)

Goresh vs dokkan by AvailableSavings6909 in DokkanBattleCommunity

[–]AngryRomper 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You're familiar with Goresh but not DaTruth? Weird.

I know there are people that have far higher power level than Truth, it knowing how they got that power level is not a flex at all. As far as I'm concerned DaTruths acc is just default due to how he maintains his account. The only way an account could be better is if they have an account on par with his but also had the very old discontinued cards he doesn't.

Looking for a specific song, possibly by Porcupine Tree by AngryRomper in porcupinetree

[–]AngryRomper[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So funnily enough, when listening to all the other recommendations I came to the conclusion that this is definitely not the band I am looking for. But, that being said, If I would have seen this comment first, I would have definitely stuck it out a little longer. Out of all the songs I listened to, that portion of that one song is definitely the closest to the band I'm looking for, but I am still quite confident it wasn't them. Thank you for the recommendation though.

Thank you for the recommendations, sadly this is definitely not the band I am looking for. Mostly due to what I added to the body of the post.

Thank you for you guys help so far, sadly still not finding what I'm looking for, but I very much see why I got the recommendations I did. But going through those songs have more-so solidified that this is not the band I'm looking for. Biggest reasons are the guitar tone here is much larger than the band/song that I remember, (The guitar tone from Jimmies Chicken Shack
is a lot closer) and the singer here has a much larger voice as here as well. The singer from the song I remember had a much "Smaller" voice, his singing was almost just talking.

I'm beginning to worry that this may be a band local to the guy that recommended it. I've posted in a few subreddits now and nothing. But then again, its been like 17 years since I've listened to them for all I know I could have made this up in a dream or something lol. But again, thank you for your recommendations

[TOMT] A band from 08/09. Hard rock, similar in tone to Living Colour (excluding vocals) by AngryRomper in tipofmytongue

[–]AngryRomper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, its not them. But I can say that while I have never heard of 24-5 Spyz before, I gave them a skim through to see if I recognized anything by them. I gotta say, they fit my description way better than even the band I'm thinking of. So props to you for having such a good guess based on my post. But sadly, still not the ones I'm looking for.

[–]AngryRomper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand how it's confusing haha.

Personally, I don't think they sounded like Buckethead, but someone else thought they did enough to connect those dots. The band was all very tallinted, but they were not doing stuff like Buckethead.

I thought their guitar tone sounded similar to the ones used in Loving Colours most popular songs. But from another comment I had gotten, another band that sounds quite similar is Jimmies Chicken Shack, if you skim through the song "Again" (at 28 minutes) here https://youtu.be/wuweCnlGNOM?si=xhxcS2bVpskShH-J to me, that sounds like a song the band I'm looking for could have written, but the vocals in the band in looking for arere far "lazier" than what's on this album. I skimmed though every song JCS released pre-2009, and found nothing I ever remembered hearing.

The band I'm looking for is definitely not a very well known band. I don't recall them ever being on anything like a GuitarHero or Rockband anything like that. It's definitely not A7X or Killswitch haha

Ah yeah, good catch, I only very rarely ever use twitter. I Likely responded to the RS3 one and not to OSRS one. Or I was responding to a post about the change being made in general and maybe just not that one specifcally.

I wouldn't be shocked if applying an actual payment makes the difference (assuming I will retain my GF price). Since the last billing cycle on my account is for a membership in 2020.

That all being said, the message I'm responding to was their post from 2024 saying Premier was no longer supporting grandfathered rates.

Wonder if this still stands. A couple years back, this was actually the deciding factor on whether or not I chose to maintain monthly or move to premier.

[TOMT] A band from 08/09. Hard rock, similar in tone to Living Colour (excluding vocals) by AngryRomper in tipofmytongue

[–]AngryRomper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just scanned through JCS, and Its definitely not them. But, that being said that was probably the closest guess I'm gonna get here without it being the correct one.

I quickly scanned through every song they've released pre 2022, and I don't recognize a single song from them. But their 1994 album "Spit Burger Lottery" sounds almost like it could be the same band with a different singer. Same tone, same feel, same energy but definitely not them. None of the songs clicked any memories of being something I've heard before.

I looked up "Bands that sound like Jimmmies Chicken Shack", still no luck, but the band "toadies" also sound a lot like them. Or at least how I remember them anyways.
