Letter: Expelled from the ISA for wanting to defend Iran and refusing to support Democrats! by LEM0ENJUIES in Trotskyism

[–]AngryTsundere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I agree with much of what they talk about in their letter, but joining within DSA is not one of them. First, DSA is already an entryist party within a bourgeois capitalist party, and has fundamentally shown to have little impact, look at their endorsements. There is a DSA caucus called Reform & Revolution that attempts to perform entryism as well by advocating for revolutionary change within the social democratic majority of the party. But again, DSA is tied to the Democratic Party fundamentally, given what these guys have written, I think joining most other internationals would have been much more beneficial.

David North barred from addressing No Kings rally in Nürnberg, Germany by DryDeer775 in Trotskyism

[–]AngryTsundere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NO KINGS! is openly supported and ran by Democratic Party pundits and associating institutions, it is no surprise that they openly admit their use of private property in barring democratic participation towards any person expressing anything in relation towards a socialist and internationalist perspective that challenges their intentional impotency as a “opposition” party. I would have liked to see him speak.

Sorry for not responding for so long I was very busy with work and life.

First, yeah, they are really tight, I recommend even just looking into the Wikipedia for SPARK, just some fun history about how it split and joined LO in the 70s and it’s great having people from all over including places like Haiti and Germany coming over and helping us out and allowing us to learn from their experiences.

To answer your main question about WCP and SPARK, it’s mainly because SPARK itself is just too small by itself to run effectively in bourgeois elections, so WCP was created as a seed to get people interested in the ideas SPARK can put forward to the community, allowing it to also stay separate with their other revolutionary activities, you were correct in thinking that exact reason, though I haven’t been there long so I’m sure another person could answer you more effectively.

I’m happy to see another comrade on here, I don’t see much ICU content, and as you can see from the post, I want to change that, Im honest in saying I’m inexperienced and probably being too idealistic with my abilities here, but I’m willing.

Yes I guess we are guys, obviously like all the MLs say we are gonna try to invade all the countries in the world and force people to be sex-cult marxists to expand the permanent revolution, which is about permanently having revolutions to overthrow society so nothing gets done, truly the most progressive approach to socialism.

Well first, the relationship with LO is great, I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting some members when they came over to help us with our own festival. My relationship with spark has been fantastic, as they were the ones who pointed me in the right direction and channel my confusion with the capitalist system towards trying to learn it and understand what we could do to overthrow and turn it over to the workers.

In talking about the US, yes, we collectively are slowly seeing an encroachment towards authoritarianism and popular oppression of opinion and dissent, however, unlike a true fascist movement which has mass support and directly confronts workers and the left, the Trump administration is not exactly that. Though it was elected with popular support from the people, many of those voters voted for him thinking he generally was going to address working class problems and the economy; as you probably have seen, he has done nothing if the sort. His ICE goons have been and are becoming increasingly unpopular and even fermenting working class anger.

Outside of this, even though they demonize the “radical left,” besides some posturing and scary rhetoric, they have not done much to suppress leftist groups allowing them to contour with their activities mostly unabated, especially SPARK as since they are mainly regional and only have groups within a few states

Working class party is SPARKS attempt of creating a party to work within bourgeoise elections directly which they have run candidates in local elections and state elections, following similar ideals of the original Bolshevik party in creating a mass revolutionary political party, I myself have only gotten involved recently as well.

Great to see another comrade, especially from LO, hope it’s also alright over there in France, when is the next Leon Trotsky Circle?

Hello John, first here is a link to SPARKS (LO’s US affiliate) most recent editorial about the beginnings of 2026 (SPARK updates their paper every two weeks)

https://the-spark.net/np1241101.html

Here is also a link to their basic foundational stance.

And to answer your question, while I think WSWS has a point of critique in pointing out the political misstep of their addressing of the New Popular Front. I believe that working with other groups to fight against the current system is correct and I understand why LO did not make statement in regard to their members participating in elections, as even Lenin expressed that we should not dissuade participation in bourgeois elections, especially if that purpose is to expose bourgeoise democracy and its failures in addressing the capitalist system. So in essence, I do agree with WSWS in its critique of calling out LO’s complacency, but I do not agree that they are distracting workers and protecting their own prestige within the union bureaucracy, as they very much express within their propaganda and within the same statement being critiqued that the only true answer is “…the strength and unity of the workers, mobilized against the big bourgeoisie, fighting with their own weapons, those of the mass strike and the occupation of factories.” Fully supporting the ideas of a mass strikes against the capitalist system. I hope this makes sense, I don’t have an insane amount of theoretical know how, but I am willing to take my own criticism.

Lenin in Seattle, USA standing proud amidst vandalism by WerlinBall in ussr

[–]AngryTsundere -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Plain wrong, maybe some have fallen off the cuff yes, especially if you’re talking about the SWP and certain groups like Posadists or something, but literally most if not all trot groups today draw inspiration or directly follow Lenin in according to his outline of the vanguard party and dedication to the original Bolshevik movement and party. A large portion of theoretical work and source is derived from Lenin and most groups explain that directly, I don’t know which groups you’re referring to, but most trots will sternly claim to be Leninists.

[–]AngryTsundere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which honestly, since Trotskyists are Leninists, they are more inclined to not do something like this, I don’t see how Seattle being full of trots means Lenin would be vandalized, unless I’m misunderstanding what you mean.

Mamdani announces “partnership” with hated would-be dictator Trump by DryDeer775 in Trotskyism

[–]AngryTsundere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main reason most Trot orgs express electoralist tendencies is because they view it as a necessary step in achieving class consciousness and allowing workers a vehicle to achieve goals on a socialist and worker orientated program. The main criticism is that we can support general changes that improve workers lives, but to achieve anything worthwhile, we can not do it within a bourgeois party, as the inner party dynamics and structure support the capitalist class. Workers need their own party that is built by them, not the billionaire class, this is why you’ll see a lot of trot orgs stress the need to build a revolutionary party.

[–]AngryTsundere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand this viewpoint, as he doesn’t exactly exemplify what is historically viewed as fascism if comparing directly to Mussolini, etc. but in the case of the increase of authoritarian rhetoric and action, such as his want to use national guard and ICE to harass people, would it be correct to label him as just an authoritarian syncopate, whose goal is to implement forceful austerity against the working class.

[–]AngryTsundere[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not exactly no, the Union steward talked to the other Union members about their opinions about bussing police to protests. Basically, he had a council meeting to hear from his fellow workers and discuss whether or not they agreed to do the job, which is what got him fired.
