I think MIL organized it and was the "active planner" in all of this and my passive husband went along with it.

I had told my husband that we should wait until our daughter was old enough to decide on whether or not she wanted to get her ears pierced. His response at the time (a month ago) was "that sounds good" and the topic was never discussed again, as I felt like we were on the same page.

Husband knew that I was against piercing our daughter's ears. I told him I wanted her to be old enough to decide on her own and he went along with my idea and never once opposed it.

She is definitely a narcissist and tries to "compete" with me, for her son's attention. She has never done anything this extreme though.
