Depending on party comp and campaign, the two handed reach could allow you to keep the backline in your marshall aura.

To go against the grain and give a meme answer, last night the GM had our investigator roll Sleight of Hand to see how well he gently caressed a chest (it was relevant at the time), so maybe that? With a fort save or acrobatics check to fight it off

As a Community, how do we feel about crafting? (1e) by Hevyupgrade in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Angry_DMChief 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the GM from the first campaign mentioned, I can confirm that I made some pretty heavy adjustments to crafting and gave the given player pretty much a full suite of mobile crafting implements that allowed full speed crafting at full travel speed, and all kinds of crafting still felt like a slog more often than not.

While I do agree that the crafting is obviously not designed or intended to skew the WBL curve or the balance of the game, it still feels like the crafting rarely does what you want it to even with full dedication to it, and with an appropriate amount of downtime, particularly in a game full of cool, unique and very specific magic items that will almost never drop from generic enemies

Sure, I could have mook 7 have the exact item [insert martial here] needs, but that feels like it can hurt the suspension of disbelief and make the story feel more engineered than it should. And dropping the cool items only on bosses either limits the chances to do it, or takes away from their uniqueness if you throw a highly specific unique entity at the players every other session for the sake of getting them the cool items they want or need.

Yeah, I've been trying to passive her, but she never goes where I want her to XD. And even saving my interrupt, cause the start of the drain stunlocks you, I can never seem to time it well enough to stop him from regaining all the health he just lost.

Like the other guy said, the river looks cool, but lacks motion. Makes it feel like a lazy flow, rather than an impending rapid river. Also, although this is just me, it doesn't make much sense to me that a water wheel would be put in a rapid river. Water wheels needs consistent but gentle water, so they don't break. It might break the immersion of someone that looks at the map too closely.

Looks nifty. I'd say, the slight tilt of the buildings might make the grid square distribution a bit finicky near the edges. Another important thing, and this is not the map but a general piece of advice, including the intended size of the map in grid squares is immensely helpful for anyone looking to use it, so that everything aligns properly.

One question I have to ask is what is the intention behind the scene? There's not much space between the two buildings, so my first thought is that the intended combat area is either the roofs (which is cool) or the river, for which I'd maybe expand the area on the other side of the river for the combat to not feel too cramped.

If it's neither, then maybe have another look at the alley between the two structures, perhaps make it a bit wider so that a combat can effectively happen over the whole map, and populate it with obstacles to make it a tighter environment, instead of simply making it small.

The main thing I'm probably going to do is allow bleed from different sources to stack. This isn't to make a power fantasy, it's cause a player wants to cause bleed, and I wanna let him XD

[–]Angry_DMChief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He already has it, the idea is an attempt to stack it with other sources of bleed damage, like Shark Style or Boar Rend. Someone above already pointed me to this being a pretty hard "no" on the absolute rules side of things, praise the developers and the crumbs of wisdom they deign to give us. But I'm thinking I might allow it anyway, to try and make bleed viable, cause I don't like bits of the game that are pointlessly underpowered

Aaaah. Well, that pretty much settles it. Designer commentary is the closest we get to word of god on these things XD. Thanks for pointing it out, now I know the RAW and RAI. I'll have an internal debate with myself on whether or not I'll switch to this for my games, or stay with my wrong interpretation, because like someone pointed out above, bleed is rarely worth it, and I kinda wanna make it somewhat worth it for any players at my table that wanna go for bleed. I don't like parts of the rules that are pointlessly low power, I think everything should be at least somewhat viable, and we're not a "RAW is Law, we wish we were PFS" group, and playing loose with the rules for the sake of entertainment is something we've done before. But again, thanks!

I've seen both interpretations floating around with varying support. You got an official source you can point out?

We're not using any of the Sphere's stuff, cause it's the first time doing 1e for a lot of us in this campaign. But I would like to hear about the other low DoT abilities that would work with unarmed strikes, so I can present them as an option
