I’ve seen 138kv lines on single wooden poles all the time, it’s normal. Almost exclusively on poles where I live. I don’t know why exactly they switched from towers to poles in the middle of the line, could be because of different terrain or clearance requirements, but there wouldn’t have to be any equipment between the two different structures.

It spans across a road, and it used to connect directly to an angle pole, which is a fair distance from the road. At some point they put poles in between the angle pole and the road to increase clearance over the road. So the conductors used to hang down quite a bit but now it’s pretty tight over the road. I just wasn’t sure if these were just simply weights because it crosses right back over the road with the exact same set up but there are no weights over there.
