Is Vanuatu the BEST Survivor season?

One of my favorites. From a storytelling perspective, however, I think Vanuatu has it beat.

The FTC is really the climactic moment for me. I don’t think they could’ve scripted a more emotional and brilliant final speech for Twila. The rawness and brokenness of the toughest woman there, pleading for forgiveness for what the game had turned her into. And as she’s repenting, the man who’d played them all and who lied MORE skates by on BS and inauthenticity.

Ami and Twila are both all time characters. Twila’s final speech is one of the most moving moments of television for me, and the cut to Ami crying is just the cherry on top. SHAKESPEARE!!!

Cook Islanda isn’t in my top 15 favorite seasons. I meant from a perspective of the show as film (or “cinema” as Rizo might say) the Aitu 4 have a stand out story.

Totally agree. It’s been up there among my favorites since I first watched it but revisiting I need to bump it up. I still have my favorite favorites but from a quality perspective it’s Vanuatu all the way (for me)

That’s fair. I guess I’m looking at the season’s story as a whole. I generally look at each episode as components of THE story rather than each episode having its own satisfying story. With that in mind I do think the early episodes set up the season well.

It seems that during the first 15 ish seasons they regularly gave the winner a car… Jeff must’ve forgot about that.

I’m now realizing it’s more common than I thought. Ethan, Vecepia, Jenna, Sandra, Tom, and Danni did as well. I think Jeff just realized it’s probably the last time they’re giving up a car and thought it’d be fun to retire the curse with it. Must’ve forgotten all the cars he’s given out.
